i just went with the dell 22"

i couldnt justify the cost of the 24" even though it would be a better panel than the TN

i would love to have true 8 bit color but i dont need it

I ended up getting a 24" Soyo lcd from officemax for $300 + tax. Even though its a TN, its damn cheap and pretty good quality. Pretty bare in features and its uglier than a duck, but has decent color, very bright, and I'm digging the high res.

Just played cod4 at 1920x1200 and wow. Beats my old 20.1" dell monitor. I'm also surprised that my 8800 gts 640 can handle that high res at medium settings. I'm thinking about getting a 2nd one now. I already do all of my photo editing on TN monitors, can't really justify the 2x cost for true 8 bit monitors now.

spyder3elite, wouldn't be a photographer without it. btw, just found out, Soyo's are not TN, but MVA's, so they are true 8 bit panels. Guess them marketing boys at soyo failed to mention that. Might pick up a 2nd one now that I know its true 8 bit.

Just got LG L246WP, which believed to be a 8bit P-MVA panel, pretty good for my RAW photo work.

Somebody said ACER X241WSD is also 8 bit panel, not quite sure, I just checked local stores, only display items remaining there.
