The biggest criteria I use to judge how much I enjoy a film is to ask myself if I would see it again. I would not see Lars And The Real Girl again. That doesn't mean I didn't like it. Ryan's acting was great and was the best thing about the movie. On the flipside, I couldn't recommend Michael Clayton and Darjeeling Limited any more. I hope to see these movies once more before they leave theatres.[Edited on November 7, 2007 at 4:52 PM. Reason : yep you caught me not paying attention]

I think he meant "any more", not "anymore".

Just saw Monster Squad from 1987 via Netflix, I heard it was like a Halloween version of the Goonies. First off, that's only mildly true, since the Goonies is in my top five all time favorite movies, Monster Squad could not hold a candle. What it was though, was a pretty good 80's movie that was like the Goonies in that it had a group of kids on an adventure. I'd recommend it, but have to tell you that if you did not grow up loving it, you are going to have to try really hard to love it. I give it 3 out of 5 zany bats.Mr. Brooks: wait a minute, Dane Cook? Kevin Costner? This movie is an odd cast that got looked over in the box office, and I did not want to see it. Shows me, because this movie was awesome. If you like serial killer movies, you'll like this one. There were some really good "wow, sir, you are not sane" moments. Pretty smart and really entertaining I thought. I give it 8 out of 10 bloody shovels.

The Golden Compassbig let down. Slow and boring. 2/5 a lot of other people seemed to enjoy it, but it wasn't for me.

In theaters:No Country for Old Men - As close to flawless as it could have been. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10On DVD:Knocked Up - Meh. It was funny throughout, but nothing amazing. Compared to Superbad... I laughed more in the first 20 minutes of Superbad than I did in all of Knocked Up. It still had its moments, though. 7.5/10[Edited on December 2, 2007 at 1:11 AM. Reason : .]

beowulf 2/5would be lower if it hadn't been in 3d @ imax. the scene with angelina is literally worth the price of admission though. the movie itself, especially the dialogue was abysmal. it reminded me way to much of 300, which i hated.

American Gangster - 3/5 - I enjoy the "cops and robbers" genre but this movie never gave me anything new. But was still entertaining.I'm Not There - 1/5 - My girlfriend and I left halfway through it. I was not enjoying the movie at all but if I knew more about Dylan (and actually enjoyed his music) I might give it another chance.

Darjeeling Limited, 4/5I thought it was very funny, although, in fairness, I had just earlier that day gone through a very similar experience involving a belt to the one presented in the movie, so that added a level of hillarity that would really only apply to me personally.American Gangster, 4/5Honestly my only big complaint isn't that it was too long, but that Denzel Washington didn't take up more of that time. I have no problem with Russel Crowe or his part in this movie, but to me he just doesn't hold a candle to the intensity that Washington displays when he's playing an asshole.Hitman, 2/5I saw it for free, which helped, and I played the video games extensively, which possibly helped even more. I thought it was one of the truer video game adaptations I've seen on film, which isn't saying much, but I at least have to hand it to them that they frequently caught the feel of the game, even in little details. Otherwise? Feels like a poorly-done Bourne ripoff.
