Yes. Seriously. It's called respect. It's not such a hard concept. I played sports, you don't steal bases and bunt in baseball, you don't throw deep and go for it on 4th in football, you don't jack up 3's with 20 seconds left on the shot clock.

Meh, if I was up by 40 points in the 4th I would be in total pro-bowl mode.Every snap that is played risks injury to your players, I would either run it inside most plays and take the play clock down pretty much all the way or put in the scrubs.

Respect is shaking hands when the game is over. Respect is not cussing at the officials. Respect is meeting after the game and praying together. Respect is not cheap shotting by hitting in th back, the knees, throwing the pitch at a batters head or throwing elbows in the paint.Respect has nothing to do with the scoreboard. I know the concept, and I know when it applies. To tell me not to do my best when the clock is running is not respect. Personally I think it is disrespect to the game not to play your best and not to play fully for the entire game (be it hockey, baseball, soccer, track, tennis, football, golf - pick it) III

I bet this game was the epitome of respect and sportsmanship to youhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1916_Cumberland_vs._Georgia_Tech_football_gameTo take your foot off of their throat would be a disrespect of the higest order!

After its all being said, the Pats will keep on piling on the point. Seriously, besides Colt, no one else on their schedule has a good shot at beating them...

Assuming they beat the colts and nobody else beat them, then the NY Giants, week 17.Unless they are just set on going undefeated to the possible detriment of their playoff chances, they will be resting most of their starters, and the Giants will probably be playing for 1st place in the NFC East.

2 minor issues with that game GT v. Cumberland. 1) That was college, not pro...In NFL (not as much in college, but it does happen) the guys are getting paid to perform at their best every play.2) LOL, that shit is funny, and hey if you can't stop them from scoring, too bad...if the cumberland wanted too, they could have forfeited lol.I got beat by 40-50 points in HS by Hunter Huss, and then by 30 some (+) by Hickory in 1997 (when they went un-deafeted and won State Championship). In both games both teams had their started out in the 4th quater well up by 40/30 points respectively. They whooped our asses and kept scoring. We could not stop them, but did we want them to stop playing their game and take pity on us b/c of our inefficiencies? No. We took it and learned from it. Let it ride...I bet that GT v. Cumberland game in 1916 was pretty damn funny to watch. Probably was not even football then III

That GT game was payback, according to Wiki... I can only hope that it happens to the Pats. I don't wanna say I hope somebody gets hurt, but maybe in a few years when they're bad again people keep pummeling them into the ground.

^Nothing wrong with that. If you can win big, you have to be able to lose big. The Pats should not feel hurt, complain, cry, or wonder why someone scores convincingly on them in the 4th quater with a few minutes to go with their starters in. So long as there are no "cheap shots" by either team then I am for it.I am sure it will happen at some point, probably not this year though...and likely not next season. III

This is so freakin stupid. Not swearing has absolutely nothing to do with morality. Nor does being married. Nor does believing in a higher power. None of that has any bearing on morality.Scoring a lot of points is not evil. Nor is having the eye of the tiger. Nor is dating supermodels. None of that makes a contender evil.
