What if something happens to them that disfigures something you really loved about them, like their face, but otherwise they are healthy and the same person as before. Would you stick it out or high tail it?

my ex got in that comfort zone about halfway through our 3 years. When we first started dating she worked at a gym and was a fitness freak and had one of the tonedest bodies and firmest asses i'd ever had the pleasure of balling out. Then she slowly turned into the lazy sweatpants no routine type which immediately didn't bother me cause i like thick girls and am pretty lazy myself.

We broke up and she kept gaining, mostly in the face which was horrible on her. Now she looks awkward. So yeah, glad that is over.

^^same here

If a girl looks like she is trending towards fatitude, I bail on her. Some chicks are just destined to be fatties. No use fighting that shit.

ha ha I honestly doubt I'll ever be overweight... When I got in my motorcycle wreck and stopped running for a few weeks I gained a little bit of weight and felt shitty in my jeans... At that point I was like "I don't give a fuck if I still can't walk, its time to get off my fat ass and start running again." And then I lost like more weight than I gained and I was pretty stoked about that....

I think taking pride in your appearance is a matter of respect for yourself and your significant other.

No one is saying you have to be a model, but there's a pretty clear difference between trying and not trying at all.

"i keep running into girls that work out all the time before and when you're just dating

get serious, no need, they don't have to impress someone anymore

then they start hitting the gym again

you think it's nice

and sure enough, it's b/c they plan on breaking up or are already hooking up with someone else

i keep running into crazies. "

Ben, that's all women.

I basically agree with that, but I don't tend to get hung up on weight. However, there is a huge difference between someone who is a well-groomed overweight person and a slobby overweight person.

I am actually really bothered by unfortunate fat girls who just make it worse with the bad clothes and the bad hair and bad skin, etc.

if it was significantly affecting their health, id be concerned and say something. But I'm generally attracted to chubby guys though, so most of the time its a non-issue. nothin says sexy like a beer gut. hahaha.
Also, i always lose weight when i'm in relationships. I'm not sure why, but every time i get into a serious relationship 2+ months in i start dropping weight. Not in an unhealthy way, i think i just generally care more about looking good for someone.
All of my friends are getting married and gaining significant amounts of weight though. Its like, they won the race so they gave up on looking good. its sad, some of these chicks used to be really hot, then they tied the knot and less then a year later they could be spokeswomen for jenny craig.
