11/12/2007 6:00:19 PM
^Not a horrible plot, but they'll really have to work hard to not fuck it up.
11/12/2007 6:37:49 PM
This also has the oddest cast Star Trek movie ever...Winona Ryder = Spocks motherBruce Greenwood = Capt. Pikenew cast additions
11/12/2007 6:44:42 PM
FINALLY THEY MANAGED TO WORK TIME TRAVEL INTO THE PLOT OF A STAR TREK MOVIE. THANK HEAVENS.
11/12/2007 6:48:00 PM
It could be worse, they could have tried to add Q
11/12/2007 6:50:31 PM
^But at least the Q were interesting. That's really more due to John De Lancie's performance, but the concept of a god-like being that was perpetually fucking with humanity was intriguing. The real problem is when the writers castrated the Q (as well as the Borg) during Voyager.
11/12/2007 8:03:23 PM
lets not discuss the plot in this thread until the movie comes out... can we agree to that?
11/13/2007 9:07:42 AM
I seriously thought the cast list was a jokeuntil I IMDBed it
11/13/2007 9:13:57 AM
^^^ What didn't Voyager castrate?
11/13/2007 1:58:05 PM
Does the Star Trek crew go back in time to bring Al Gore to the future so he can rally people behind dealing with Universal Warming?
11/13/2007 2:24:35 PM
^^ Yeah I guess it was redundant to specify what Voyager ruined.

fascinating
11/14/2007 6:29:27 AM
The Borg kicked ass until they made them look like mutant zombies with wires coming out.
11/14/2007 6:59:54 AM
^i mean that's pretty much what they are.and BOBW did NOT castrate the borg.

Jennifer Morrison (Cameron from House) will be playing Dr. Carol Marcus (most likely) or Janice Reed

I sat down to watch the Enterprise twice, both times it turned out to be the same episode. It was the one where some people on a remote planet were being bullied by Klingons into giving them free starship fuel or something. Pretty much the plot of A Bug's Life set in the Star Trek universe. It was pretty stupid. The people on the planet moved the town over by a few feet so the Klingons were tricked into walking into their fuel extraction field. The Klingons walked into their trap and were surrounded by a ring of fire. So what do they do? They become afraid, beam aboard their ship, and never come back. Wow. Notice that one little tidbit? They beamed aboard their ship. You'd think they would just beam themselves out of the ring of fire and start slaughtering the village, but I guess that was before Klingons became battle hardened.I gave the show another chance and when I tuned in it was the exact same episode. Never bothered trying to watch it again.
11/18/2007 5:17:09 PM
The dvds for enterprise were the last star trek I bought (meaning I had everything else already). Watched them all fairly quickly and actually got to like the show more than I thought I would. Dunno if it was just because it was the last series I watched or not.
11/18/2007 5:28:55 PM
this is the man that killed Trek.
11/18/2007 5:30:19 PM
^he's currently fuckingSo I don't think he cares. However, she's a prude
11/18/2007 5:43:07 PM
^ nah, that was only during Voyager, they broke up
11/18/2007 6:22:56 PM
Current rumor is that Tyler Perry has been cast as the head of Starfleet Academy
12/30/2007 2:59:38 PM
Do you nerds actually think this movie is going to be good?
12/30/2007 3:23:06 PM
No, but it'll be fun to watch it fail
12/30/2007 3:36:14 PM
no. not at all. that is the purpose of this thread.
12/30/2007 5:26:18 PM
any star trek > no star trek
12/30/2007 5:33:46 PM
i don't necessarily agree with that statement. the whole "temporal cold war" trek would have been better had it never existed.
12/30/2007 5:36:51 PM
no star trek > franchise killing star trek
12/30/2007 6:02:13 PM
The entire concept of prequels is fucking stupid to begin with.HAY LETS GO AHEAD AND EXPLAIN WHY SHIT HAPPENEDOH WAIT WE CANT BECAUSE WE LOVE TO FUCK OUR STORYBOARDS IN THE ASS WITH TIME TRAVEL HORSE SHITI mean seriously, couldn't they just watch Star Trek 6 take notes, and make a movie like that? Hell, lie to me, take the same script, update the cast and ship, and do it again. I'll watch it. It'll be good. For the love of God.There seriously has not been a single good sci fi film in the last decade.

12/30/2007 8:02:10 PM
^pretty much
12/30/2007 10:07:53 PM
^^I could stand behind that list, although i might put generations above III.
12/30/2007 10:17:30 PM
The reason why I put III ahead of Generations is because the destruction of Kirk's Enterprise was one of the best scenes in trek history.
12/30/2007 10:52:41 PM
1. II2. VI3. III4. IV5. First Contact6. The Motion Picture7. Insurrection8. Generations9. Made for TV 2 HR finale (TNG)10. Nemesis
