Back to the original topic...Winter is going to be dry I think, but the little kid inside me wants there to be a shit-ton of show. Sadly, CPC is calling for normal or above average temps for the whole US and normal to below average precip for NC. /sigh

That lake doesn't appear to be nearly as far down as Fontana and Hiwassee.

or ncstate's qb to suck ass. but everybody remembers how good we were about 4-6 years ago with phillip rivers (major winter storms) and wants to believe it will happen again but in reality, its only a 100year event.

We don't have a water supply problem in North Carolina, we have a water management problem.
10/17/2007 11:47:25 AM
^ we have both

I don't know what's going on in the east, but in the mountains we have wells and springs that have never run dry dropping like flies. Many of the systems are not interconnected so there's nothing to manage.

Yeah, my parents wells are running dry. One of them is almost dried up. They have two, so they are good for a little while longer, but not too much longer.

^^^ Actually, if we had proper water management, we wouldn't have a water supply problem--that was the point.Obviously, the drought is not helping. [Edited on October 18, 2007 at 12:04 AM. Reason : .]

You are so full of shit. We have both a water supply shortage and a water management problem. this is the state's worst drought since 194something.

^^ Yeah, that's why I included the following quotation.

you are a riot. Of course every drought ends with rain or snow. THat doesn't change a goddamned thing though. THink about it. We now have wells and springs that have never run dry, never have had an increase on the water supply, but yet have been dry for about 6 months now. That isn't called a "water management problem" that is a water supply problem. So what is this proper water management you are talking about? Mandating rain every other week that provides 2 inches of water? what do you proposed master genius. So why don't you take me up on the bet?And to answer beardawgs question, we'll have a drier than normal winter because of the la nina.
