in case it was overlooked on page 1blue car. It's the one in traffic. Same as if the blue car was making a left turn and the person in the red car was making a left turn as well.
10/14/2007 5:42:04 PM
yes. i'm pretty sure the red car has to yield because it has a stop sign. if it did not, then regulations require some indication of who has to yield.would this happen to be the Nazareth and Western intersection?
10/14/2007 5:55:01 PM
U-turns never have right of way.
10/14/2007 5:56:55 PM
^if that were true, then there would never need to be a sign that says "UTURN MUST YIELD"
10/14/2007 5:59:21 PM
Those signs are for the people who weren't taught that in driver's education.[Edited on October 14, 2007 at 6:04 PM. Reason : Or forgot it.]
10/14/2007 6:03:31 PM
they have signs that say "yield to pedestrians" and they always have the right of way
10/14/2007 6:04:21 PM
10/14/2007 6:04:27 PM
or just because people can't fucking drive.
10/14/2007 6:04:52 PM
there's a sign at Gorman and Western that says U-turn must yield, yet the dumbasses making U-turns there still think they have right-of-way.[Edited on October 14, 2007 at 6:09 PM. Reason : I love blocking off people making illegal U-turns]
10/14/2007 6:09:07 PM
If you are making a turn and you have a green ball, you must yield to pedestrians. If you are making a turn and you have a green arrow, you do not have yield to pedestrians.[Edited on October 14, 2007 at 6:18 PM. Reason : Hence the arrow.]
10/14/2007 6:17:49 PM
you always yield to pedestrians. Thinking you can just run them over because of a green arrow is a great way to get a vehicular manslaughter charge.
10/14/2007 6:39:26 PM
if the peds would just follow the white man or orange hand, no one would have a problemalso this situation would have not been a problem if there were more michigan lefts

red car has right of wayu-turn always yields

10/14/2007 7:12:10 PM
This should be a non issue since you are supposed to turn into your first available lane (left lane for the blue car, right lane for the red car). However, I would think that the car with the stop sign would have to yield to the free flowing traffic.
10/14/2007 7:13:02 PM
^there is no way you can make a u-turn into the leftmost lane going the other way unless you do a 180degree burnoutor it's a huge median

I'm not going to run someone over because of it but if someone walks out in front of my truck when not indicated to by the cross-walk/traffic signal they will get the horn. Loud and long.

You can quote it, but it's still wrong.Blue car has the right of way since it is on the right. You don't know if he's making a u-turn or turning left onto the red car's road. So until you find out, you'd better sit at that stop sign.Unless, of course, there is a "U-turn must yield" sign.Posted again, the relevant statute:
10/15/2007 6:27:35 PM
hmm...and when the blue car makes a u-turn, the red car is on it's right. so what's your point? But the red car is on a side street with a stop sign while the blue car is on a main roadway, so I'd think the red car should wait unless the blue car isn't already waiting at the light. ^ and I'm amazed at how many people can't grasp that concept at a 3 or 4-way stop.[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 6:39 PM. ^ "right on red" applies to traffic lights. there was no light in TenaciousC's situation.
10/15/2007 6:41:39 PM
Right on red is the equivalent of right from a stop sign.
