10/9/2007 8:46:39 PM
I'm not. But I thought that was an interesting read nonetheless...

the androgens DHT and testosterone improve muscle quality in addition to making them bigger, so men have stronger muscle fibers than women because of androgen prevalence. trying to claim there is no difference in strength capabilities between male and female muscles is absurd.that being said, bench press strength is overrated. squats and deadlifts are a better measure of strength. i'd rather pull big than push big anyday.

i lift three times a weekI dont see any gains as far as real gains in going up in weight on the bench, everywhere else i see themwhats the deal?5 sets of pyramid lift10(lighter)135lbs8642(heavy)

have you been doing the same chest exercises for a while now?if so, you need to change it up... also, work on your stabilizer muscles.. you need to develop the front delts, etc. incorporate dumbbell flies, dumbbell incline bench, etc into your chest routine
10/9/2007 10:33:13 PM
i will do bench one day, then 48 hours later do incline flies and suchi mix it up, i shock them about every 2 weeks
10/9/2007 10:35:57 PM
fuck benchhow much do you deadlift?
10/9/2007 10:59:43 PM
aaprior is ridiculously, horribly mistaken here. neither science nor empirical evidence is even arguably on her side.
10/9/2007 11:19:19 PM
D-bol is a helluva drug
10/9/2007 11:35:21 PM
haha, yeah it is. never touched it or any other steroid, but that stuff is something else (i'm sure there's way better stuff out nowadays, but still).

One of my friends used Muscle Milk with his workout plan and shed a reasonable amount of fat and put on a fair deal of muscle pretty quickly. How bad is this stuff for you?
10/10/2007 4:10:30 AM
muscle milk is fairly high in saturated fat, but otherwise it's just your standard protein supplement.
10/10/2007 9:05:26 AM
a little d-bol and test-e will get you going just fine JT3bucky
10/10/2007 9:07:52 AM
^^Whats the deal with that? I know they claim it comes in the form of MCT's or short chain glyceride's, but do they really benefit you?
10/10/2007 9:22:12 AM
I'm torn. Should I keep calling out her inane babble or just laugh at it?
10/10/2007 10:06:29 AM
how do most of the people in here train for the bench, squat, and deadlift? 1 rep max? 5x5? 10 rep max? something else? the gains you make are largely specific to the style of training you perform. a person that trains for max effort might be able to bench 405 but couldn't hit 225 for 10 reps. alternately, a person that can rep 315 10 times might struggle to max 405.I don't know why muscle milk has the fat composition it does. I've always just written it off as overpriced.

do your bench 10X, then do 25 pushups. then get back on your bench 10X then try 25 more pushups.U WiLL FeEL It

bench for me is 5x5 (flat BB) followed by 3x10 DB Incline or some 2-board pressesdeadlifts, since they are so taxing, usually go something like 8-5-5-3-2-5, with the last 5reps being the only work setsquats are usually 5x5 or something like 5-5-3-3-2 as well, depends on the day/my goalsomething new I plan to try is to start with OH Squats, when it gets too heavy go to front squats, when that gets too heavy go to back squatsrep range and sets will obviously going to depend on a persons goaland "the burn" is nothing but an indicator of lactic acid buildup[Edited on October 10, 2007 at 12:11 PM. The way I train uses one day of Max Effort Bench 1-5RM and one Day of Max Reps.

I'm with arcgreek here, deadlifts should be the golden standard of weight lifting, you are seriously testing so many different parts of your body (from the muscles in the tip of your wrists to the bottom of your hamstrings) and it's the most crude and practical test of strength but bench has so much more ego behind iteven myself I used to do them real seriously when I wasn't even that strong and be able to deadlift about a hundred poudns above my bench but I haven't done one with serious weight on a barbell in two years
10/10/2007 6:03:57 PM
My current plan mixes sets of 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. I'm about to start an oly plan that will have look a bit like restricted's westside, or go to a plan using crossfit's wod preseded by some low rep oly lifting.[Edited on October 10, 2007 at 6:13 PM. Reason : ]

wow give the girl some credit, she manages to actually get some visible amount of muscle to show off while still maintaining to look attractive

squats are a bigger ego lift for me than bench or deadlift, because you can determine how deep you take the bar instead of being limited by the floor or your chest. taking a set of heavy squats ass to grass is such a satisfying feeling, and the soreness you feel the next day lets you know you really did something.
10/10/2007 8:27:06 PM
I inspired myself to do a pyramid of serious barbell deadlifts tonight and forgot how seriously painful they were on your lower back

yes, by just generalizing muscle tissue you don't take into account differences such as fast twitch and slow twitch muscles. there are also hormonal differences to consider as well.

quick question:whats the usual weight of the bar? i'm trying to calculate exactly where i am. i may have seriously miscalculated here.

45 lbs

11/17/2007 3:34:59 AM
yeah, i'd like to see her made to look foolish a little more.
11/17/2007 7:00:52 AM
between her biceps and politics im relatively impressed. Who cares about her men/women strength argument. That's a really gay reason to be turned off by a girl. The only downside is she appears to be a religious zealot.
