Okay, I'm obviously trolling in this thread, but for the sake of argument, do you withhold your enjoyment of the hit until after you are sure the recipient is going to be okay? More often, I see people celebrating the hit and then trying to feign concern when someone appears to be injured. It's pretty thin line.

EXACTLY.

If you want to see hits and not have to make this distinction, don't fucking turn on a college football game. That's what mixed martial arts are for. They are there to get hurt. Football is a game with a secondary result of injuries, not primary.

But regardless, every one of the players on that field is fully aware of the risks involved in playing football, so you technically can be justified in enjoying even the hits that result in permanent injury. Just think how many times you hear a coach or teammate said "it's just part of the game" after something like that happens
