I get the feeling that he just accepted this whole time travel thing way too easily. If I were him, every time I saw the ex-gf I would ask her tons of questions. And if she gave stupid ambiguous answers I would keep asking them until she told me wtf was going on.

I would also tell the brother to stop being suck a dickhead all the time.

"I think this is in general what is wrong with this show. Mostly, the whole going back in time thing seems to be a ploy so that the writers can write about how its affecting his current life. There seems to be no higher purpose for his time travels. The writers better quickly figure out what the hell the point of the show is or they're going to lose a whole lot of audience."

I'm perfectly happy to watch this dude go back in time for no reason.

I thought the writing on the episode before last was especially poor, but dude, he goes back to the 70s! They got the smooth tunes and indoor chain-smoking and all that good stuff...

these are probably training missions and olivia is tracking/training him.

like she said, she used to disappear and then had to fake her death because she knew she couldn't explain it and would have to be gone so much.

whoever she works for or controls her travelling will probably ask Dan to come on and do the same thing, thus being forced to decide between abandoning his family or saving lives.

she probably signed on full time and now can't travel to the future from the point she made her decision, or something to that effect. i dont even think the writers know

what's to stop him from going back and retrying?

other than the fact it'd be hard to pack all that into one episode

don't worry, there will probably be an episode where he goes back and does the same "thing" 2-4 different ways, ala "Groundhog's Day"

Well say he messed up and doesn't complete his mission... then right before he was about to "fail" or whatever, his future self would step in and save him, so how would it be possible for him to fail? Unless it is based in the "alternate timeline" theory of time travel.

my thoughts exactly.

hopefully they will do like they did with the Black Donnelly's last year and air the new episodes online to finish out the story line. NBC has had some great shows the last couple years but they are so quick to throw them under the bus and never give them a chance to mature.

Geez, I thought the writers strike was one reason nothing had been cancelled yet (other than Viva Laughlin) and networks were going to at least let their shows play out. This is the best new show of 2007 by far, but it was doomed from the start...that 10PM Monday night slot just doesnt work for NBC (see Studio 60, The Black Donnellys, even The Real Wedding Crashers). Thats probably why they went ahead and did the earthquake episode early rather than saving a story like that for near the end of the season/season two.

Speaking of Quantum Leap...Everytime Dan jumps, the light is a bluish color (it may change, Im not sure, but I think its always blue). I noticed in the episode a few weeks back where we saw Livia jump, it was more of an orangish/red color. Im sure these producers are well aware of the Quantum Leap comparisons...Evil Leaper perhaps? I dont really think she is, but maybe...

if I were dan, quantum leap would be my favorite tv show. He could learn a lot about how to handle stuff, cause he is sucking right now.

so i left the TV on after heroes and was walking back and forth through the room, but not watching.
I did see some guy (played Chapelle on 24) talking to the dude's brother, comparing pictures of the Journeyman from 1977 and now.

are people figuring out what he can do?

This week's episode was great because they showed that traveling can have different purposes. You don't always have to change something to get a desired result.

Not based off of the Journeyman Project (fun game) but it does involve time travel.
