That's awesome! I'm gonna do this when I have a house out in BFE. Do they not get upset when you approach them, like the one pic of you walking up to the tree the that Rosco was in?And the high-five pic... was the high-five through the glass, or did he touch your hand?BTW, as long as you only see them at night and they don't walk in circles incoherently for a few hours before dying, then don't worry about rabies. Rabies kills relatively quickly, and starts taking away motor function. (If you didn't know this already.)One more thing: How are those 2 kittens doing that you got from me a couple years ago?[Edited on September 21, 2007 at 11:53 PM. Reason : ]

so do they come to you when you come out? like have they learned to associate you with food?
9/22/2007 12:29:58 AM
during the summer i spent most of my time outside on the deck watching tv/ waiting for coons/ becoming a raging alcoholic...so i was usually out there when they came. not sure if they associate me with food or not. i sometimes feed them by hand so they may. im going to get bitten for sure.

I imagine a raccoon might taste somewhat like a dog. But I've never eaten dog.
10/9/2007 12:55:34 PM
it's kinda stringy--like horse
10/9/2007 12:56:13 PM
I would think that raccoon would taste like squirrel. But it is in the same family as Kinkajou and Ringtail. So maybe not. Procyonidae.[Edited on October 9, 2007 at 12:58 PM. Reason : ]

I've never had squirrel. But I'd never eat a kinkajou. They are one of my favorite animals. I'd eat a squirrel if it was offered to me. Damn squirrels better be good for something, they must taste good.
10/9/2007 1:00:15 PM
i want to have some rabbit...i hear it tastes like chicken
10/9/2007 1:01:26 PM
They're not delicious, but they're edible. Best in a stew so they tenderize a lot.^ Definitely not true. Rabbit is in my top 3 game animals for tastiness! Chicken is like eating shit compared to a rabbit.[Edited on October 9, 2007 at 1:02 PM. Reason : ]

squirrels are just arboreal rats w/ furry tails
if the squirrels went to war against the raccoons, who would win?
10/9/2007 1:02:35 PM
Yes. Squirrels are rodents.^ Raccoons.[Edited on October 9, 2007 at 1:03 PM. Reason : ]

guinea pig is really popular in bolivia--i've always been curious what that'd be like
10/9/2007 1:15:38 PM
coon tastes nothing like dog. I ate dog when I was in korea, and it was surprisingly good. though I didn't know I was eating dog until I had already ate it all. coon is stringy, but really good. in a fight b/n coons and squirrels, coons would win.
10/9/2007 1:45:16 PM
due...aaron....that's it man...i'm coming over to drink beers and watch the coons tonight
10/9/2007 1:57:28 PM
come on over, ill even let you feed one a piece of pizza.
10/9/2007 1:59:18 PM
Yeah, coon doesn't taste bad at all.In a fight between a coon and dogs, the coon would win. They're mean little motherfuckers when cornered. If you keep messing with them you're going to get tore up.
10/9/2007 2:18:49 PM
many times I've seen coons and dogs fight. mostly when the coon's comin out of the tree and dog treeing it attacks the coon. sure coons put up a good fight, I spent most of my childhood coonhunting, and not once did I see a coon come out alive after fightin with a coon dog.
10/9/2007 2:35:58 PM
that's a lot of coons

Coon and squirrel are two different beasts on a plate. I personally really love squirrel, especially squirrel gravy. But coon is good if you cook it like barbecue chicken in the oven or on the grill. And a coon will lose to any decent size dog and a squirrel aint got a fighting chance. On a side note what you are doing to these animals is making them less scared of people. And when you move they will come out still wanting food and will ended up biting someone in the future. Think bears in Yellowstone in the 60's but with something that is much more sneaky. You have to remember these are wild animals who should have a natural fear of you but have learned to associate food with people. This will be the animals demise.
