b.c certain groups to perpetuate common characteristics of behavior. While it is wrong to judge any individual by a stereotype; applied to a whole group they do exist.

Stereotypes generally are caused because of a selectivity bias, and generally work against minority groups (because people don't generally form a selectivity bias against common things).Pointing out what you feel are meaningful stereotypes as well only serves to cause certain people who won't recognize their own bias to judge the individual based on the stereotype. For example, it does seem that most of the child molesters/pedophiles/beastialists are white, but white people aren't associated with these things because ~70% of the population is white, so you see many examples daily of white people who aren't those things (at least i'd hope so). On the other hand, only about 10% of the population is black, so if your exposure to blacks is mostly the media (where mostly negative things are reported), you'll eventually develop a stereotype of black people, that doesn't apply at all to the vast majority of them. Implying that somehow this thread is evidence that blacks are violent is flawed. If anything, it more impugns the type of music.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_American12% in the US (the extra 2% seems to be immigrants though). And I don't think when the typical person sees a cracker, they think "OMG pedo" but you'd be surprised how many whites are nervous around blacks because they think they are in a gang or something like that because of them having baggy pants or something.

We are not stopping hip hop shows. We are just increasing security to help ensure something like this won't happen again. If someone wants to cause problems, they can do it anywhere. So there is no way to 100% control it. But, if we know there is a greater potential on certain shows, then I think it's our obligation to do our best to provide a safe environment for everyone. And the B-Boy shows are too much fun to get rid of!
