ZOMG APPLE STORE IS DOWNhttp://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore/
9/5/2007 12:30:46 PM
Hard to sayIf Apple unveils a WiFi & browser-equipped iPod, it will def. be intruding in on the iPhone market. But i'd love to see it.
9/5/2007 12:32:13 PM
joy.it might be time for me to finally get an ipod.
9/5/2007 12:32:14 PM
I've looked at so many supposed patents concerning this new iPod, I don't know what it's going to look like...Does anyone remember a while ago, a patent surfaced with a touch-sensitive surface on the BACK of the device. The front being just one big touchscreen. They actually showed a virtual scroll wheel on the back.It is a very interesting situation, IMO. There's a fine line they've got to draw somewhere to distinguish the iPhone from the iPod. I doubt it will be JUST the phone part. But man, I'm hoping.
9/5/2007 12:35:19 PM
I'd be down with a wifi Iphone sans the phone part. I destroy phones on a regular basis, but I've managed to keep a Palm pilot alive for 7 years. All I want from a phone is an on/off button, and be semi-disposable.I played with a friend's Iphone this weekend. Very functional form factor, and browsing was very intuitive. Get a bluetooth keyboard going with it and it could damn near replace a laptop for most of my uses.

they dont want anyone hogging bandwidth so they can show off the speed of the wifi on the new ipod? From Engadget:Well, this isn't an airplane, and if they think we're NOT going to liveblog this, they've got another thing coming. But yeah, we'll def switch off our ringers. 9/5/2007 1:05:58 PM
hey, I read somewhere that the people there are supposed to turn off all their electronic equipment.Anyone heard anything like that?
9/5/2007 1:06:19 PM
looks like they're gonna let you 'make' your own ringtones from songs you've bought. Only 500k 'participating' songs on iTunes, though? wtf is that?oh, looks like you get to pay .99 extra too. That's BS[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 1:08 PM. Reason : d]
9/5/2007 1:07:52 PM
you have to pay $0.99 in addition to the song to use it as a ring tong
9/5/2007 1:08:54 PM
probably singles from most major labels.
9/5/2007 1:09:10 PM
man, I sure hope In Da Club is one of them... this is a pretty lame way to introduce ringtones for the iPhone. Here's a caveman way to put songs on your phone from the future!!
9/5/2007 1:10:03 PM

9/5/2007 1:23:12 PM
So I guess the screen is the same size as the current ipod?
9/5/2007 1:24:02 PM
eh. only 8GB on the nano. The screen is actually a little bigger, but with a higher resolution. Same resolution as the older ipod videos.]
9/5/2007 1:25:46 PM
They're saving all the flash for the full size models. What I meant was, the screen on the nano is now as big as the iPod video (old)[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 1:27 PM. Reason : df]
9/5/2007 1:26:57 PM
8gb is fine.that's more music than I can listen to in one sitting.
9/5/2007 1:27:22 PM
$150 for 4GB, $200 for 8GBWell it also does video now too. so...eh. ]
