^ I like going to the individual restrooms right after the janitor is done with them and taking a nice big shit as much as the next guy, but still, this plan is stupid

\/ while we're at it, lets give them separate water fountains, separate movie theaters, and separate restaurants!

I thought this whole "separate but equal" thing was unconstitutional.

Why can't we just send all transgendered people to separate schools since they apparently need so much accommodation.

NCLGBTU (north carolina lesbian gay bi transgender university) could be the name of the school, and it could be built in Chapel Hill.

Then the existing campus would not have to have all the frickin bathrooms, dorms, showers, locker rooms, etc redesigned. I mean I guess the separate restrooms could be nice for taking a huge dump but the cost of building them is going to be $ texas above what it costs to build a regular bathroom for how many stalls you get.

NTM as a guy I don't feel like having to deal with the long lines that would result from sharing the restroom space with wimmens.

It is truly sad how many of you oppose this because one aspect of it is a transgender issue.
IT'S OK. CALM DOWN. THEY'RE NOT GONNA CUT OFF YOUR WILLY.

Also, it is truly sad how some of you think they're talking about making every bathroom unisex. Can you read? Who is proposing changing all bathrooms to unisex? I didn't see that. Could you show me? No? You can't? Then wtf are you arguing about?

^ that is where. Dude, you can be blind to it or not, but there is an agenda. They'll start with a little and take a lot.

They're going to waste a shit load of money on this completely inane project.

It is truly sad how many of you people think the only objections we have are because you think we're rednecks who are homophobic, etc. Quit making this a transgender issue, its a matter of cost/benefit...thats it.

Don't make me laugh.

because clearly, most of the posts in this thread are about cost/benefit
and don't tell me not to make it a trans issue; I'm the one bitching about how nearly everyone else already has

Since the benefit is so incredibly negligible, pretty much any cost would exceed the benefit. So unless these bathrooms are popping up free of charge in places that couldn't possibly be used for something else, yes, the cost outweighs the benefit.

This country is going down hill faster and faster since all these liberal bitches started lobbying for their ideas... Yet, if we speak out against them then it is either sexisim, racisim, homophobic-ism, etc... Fuckin' gay that's all I'm gonna say...

I just can't wait to graduate so I can get the hell back to Australia...

^ dude, my fiance and I were talking about moving there.

With Republican senators banging pages/soliciting in bathrooms, the Commander in Chief gettin it in the White House, and all of this bullshit with gender neutral and "what gender you feel..." get me the fuck out of here.

I really hope things change around here.

While I dont think it should be a requirement, I would like to see more sinlge-person, lockable restrooms available. Public restrooms are good for 3 things: Peeing, Pooping, and washing hands. Nothing else. Having a private restroom is far better if you need to change a baby or take medicine or if you feel suddenly ill.

We have already seen how public bathrooms can be used for sex acts. So lets have bathrooms with locks on the doors? The real reason for this if the Transgender people want it. I see what they are trying to do by naming all the other people it can benefit. The disabled already have specific rules about accomidating them. Single parent's I can't remember the number of times I saw NCSU students bring their children to class and need bathrooms. We all had to go to the bathroom with our parents when we were younger. Once they get to a age where they feel uncomfortable let them go into the bathroom alone.
Why doesn't the transgender population ask for their own dorm? I mean this is the ultimate goal to have their own everything right?

I think this is a great idea create more bathrooms on campus that will have to be cleaned by someone. With that many new bathrooms on campus you are looking at hiring 2 or 3 people extra just to clean the toliets?

I used a urinal once when there was this old lady cleaning beside me. It was slightly weird, but I figured she'd probably seen a lot of cock in her day

I work with facilities operations in talley, witherspoon, and price. I don't like it cause it will add to the shit ton of work we already have.

I'm curious why transgendered people can't go into a "mans" or "womans" bathroom... just go in one based on whichever the piss comes out of.
