^I found out that Flair didn't quit after all. He was on Primetime with the Packman on Friday, and he said he didn't quit. He was starting a business called "Ric Flair Finance(s)." I think he just needed some time off to get that off the ground, but it doesn't help that he was receiving 'roids.[Edited on September 10, 2007 at 11:32 AM. Reason : 2]

yep, i think with all this other stuff going on, it's one of those situations where everyone is expecting something else bad to happen... so Flair's absence would turn into Flair quitting (especially since he's been in such bad storylines lately)

^I say Flair should get one more shot at the World Heavyweight Title considering he's the icon as far as wearing that belt. Have him miraculously win the Rumble, and he'll probably wrestle someone like Edge or Batista for the strap at WM25. Flair wins, retires at WM, then KOTR tourney to crown a new champ. That's how I would do it, but I'm not a writer/booker for the WWE. [Edited on September 10, 2007 at 11:41 AM. Reason : Spelled Batista's name wrong]
9/10/2007 11:40:38 AM
as i've said before, if anyone at all deserves to retire as Champ, it's Flair. I would absolutely love it if that happened.
9/10/2007 11:43:58 AM
i wouldn't let him win the title and then let him abandon it...i don't care what he's done or what people think he's done for the profession, if he's going to go out then he needs to go out putting over one more guy... i guess it's a personal thing, but i staunchly believe that nobody should go out on a win... hell, i wouldn't object to seeing the undertaker lose at wrestlemania in his last match there... although when he retires Survivor Series would be a more appropriate retirement ppv
9/10/2007 11:49:58 AM
its clear that with RARE exception, the WWE writers dont think more than 30 days in advance. The only case of good booking foresight was with Kennedy in the god-awful mcmahon baby angle. They actually had shit "planned" up to WM (according to the net). Then that all got shitted on with Kennedy getting suspended. The writers also dont have any memory apparently, particularly when it comes to continuity. I remember one thing with Kane getting his mask removed. 2 weeks prior to the full reveal, the mask was yanked off by someone else, with no hair coming with it and kane using his locks to cover his face. Then, 2 weeks later, the mask came off with hair a part of the mask and Kane is completely bald. WTF!?

^^my issue with that is that Ric Flair has spent his entire career putting people over. I don't think he should have to; not in his last match... and not when he's an old man... him putting someone over does have the same meaning (wow, you beat up an old man) than it would with him getting the title, retiring, and causing a tournament for the belt.
9/10/2007 1:53:27 PM
sure he's spent his entire career putting people over, only to beat them again later down the line...granted, i stopped watching around '01 or so, but i can't think of anyone who has beaten him cleanly without getting it back in return...ultimately, with ALL of Flair's opponents, Flair ended with the upper hand and the top spot whenever he wanted it...i'm not saying he isn't deserving of a good sendoff, but devaluing the WWE championship (even more than splitting it in two) just so he can strut around the ring and "WOOOO" one last time would strike me as a terrible idea
9/10/2007 3:25:35 PM
as i've said before, if anyone at all deserves to retire as Champ, it's Doink. I would absolutely love it if that happened.
9/10/2007 3:39:06 PM
evil doink was the awesomest thing to hit the WWF in years...giving the Nasty Boys fake belts and then faces full of pie was hilarious
9/10/2007 3:45:36 PM
They should set up a storyline where Flair earns a title shot for the next week's Raw and the next week's Raw is in Charlotte. Flair wins the belt in Charlotte and retires a happy man.
9/10/2007 4:33:35 PM
^ Meh. Flair needs the Big Gold Belt, not the goofy spinner.
9/10/2007 5:06:29 PM
who didnt see this hornswoggle shit coming?
9/10/2007 11:05:06 PM
fucking retarded game of guess who... why the build up for this angle if it's just gonna lead to fucking NOTHING now. couldn't they have had a better plan b?
9/10/2007 11:11:37 PM
Sandman was released today.
9/11/2007 8:23:54 PM
dropping like flies
9/11/2007 10:06:51 PM
so much for Vince being interested with him.
9/12/2007 8:12:16 AM
Ric Flair is a guest on the Primetime w/ Packman show today.its cool hearing him tell old stories and stuff. He hasn't gotten into the issues with the WWE yet though.
9/13/2007 4:54:57 PM
how is bobby lashley not a steroid suspect???
9/15/2007 10:07:40 PM
Because Vince is protecting him, just like he's protecting Cena.
9/16/2007 3:40:15 AM
fuck cena and fuck wwe's predictable writerswe all know orton wont win that belt at no mercy either
9/16/2007 10:21:02 PM
Cena is out 6-8 months with a torn pectoral tendon.OH NO!! A new champ!?!?!
10/2/2007 6:01:23 PM
well now maybe orton WILL win the belt at no mercy i was honestly expecting Jericho to show up during the last man standing match (the whole save_us.222 thing) and help orton win because cena caused him to be "fired"...now who knows what they'll do
10/2/2007 6:03:02 PM
For the love of all that is holy, give the belt to Kennedy.(Not that I think that will happen, considering he tapped in a half second flat last night...but still). ]

10/2/2007 8:36:24 PM
10/2/2007 10:32:34 PM
^they actually announced on wwe.com that he's legit injured
10/2/2007 11:59:44 PM
yeah, no need to have an angle for this, fans understand injuries...things have to be shifted around and whatnot, but having injury angles happen like this are just gifts... they can refresh the top of the roster, and when Cena comes back there's an insta-feud with the person "responsible"
10/3/2007 7:27:49 AM
10/3/2007 8:38:23 AM
I'm honestly expecting the ultimate opportunist, Edge, to return from injury and rob Orton of the belt (face turn for Edge maybe?) and set up a feud between them until HBK and Jericho show up. HBK will want revenge on Orton, and while I think Jericho was intended to feud with Cena, sending him after Edge will work just as well.
10/3/2007 3:40:31 PM
10/3/2007 5:50:04 PM
no Edge, no Undertaker, no Jericho, no HBKbut thank god HHH didn't retain that title, he'd actually be worse than Cena
10/7/2007 10:59:43 PM
good ppv though. the punjabi prison match had a great ending, and the whole championship debacle made it go by quickly. tomorrow night, raw is jericho
10/7/2007 11:07:57 PM
it looks like they're saving Jericho for Cyber Sunday since no one actually buys that ppv, but who knows with as idiotic as Vince and their writers are

someone must really have it in for Kennedy, he keeps jobbing to everyone
10/8/2007 10:52:13 PM
haha remember when they did those billionaire ted skits on the wwf?
11/1/2007 10:50:23 PM
Chris Masters suspended 60 days for second violation of wellness policy.Harry Smith suspended 30 days for violation of wellness policy (did he not learn from his dad?!).Looks like Nattie might be debuting solo after all.
11/3/2007 12:48:55 PM
so much for the new hart foundation. with teddy hart fired and harry smith suspended, I doubt nattie will get far
11/3/2007 12:53:46 PM
I think you're right, it's just unfortunate because Nattie is a pretty good worker (though she needs mic work).
11/3/2007 1:23:16 PM
so why are they bringing back DX...are the ratings that bad for them now?
11/3/2007 1:57:56 PM
11/3/2007 8:01:33 PM
haha why are people still watching wrestling?
