i just finished my first manager mode..

my first 4-5 games were kinda bad. lost 2 or so and tied the others. then i read the instructions and ive won a ton.

but when i play online i can defend kind of well but these niggas are crazy.

starting my 2nd manager mode, first game was Man. U. i won 3-0. of course its in easy mode.

play it on the second difficulty until you start winning like 75 percent of your games

then just set it on world class

its not as intimidating as you think...i can honestly win 95 out of 100 and lots of those games will be like 5-0 or 5-1 or some craziness

playing online is a whole new ballgame of course

i dont even use the trick stick, B

yeah, its not so bad anymore now that i know the basics, i dont do any tricks or use the chip or finesse shot.

i think i lost one game out of the last 15-16 and maybe tied 2-3 games.

its a mad fun game

if you are doing that well bump the difficulty all the way up

im not too sure about how different the ps3 version is as far as AI, but thats how i got good

you will see your passing and dribbling ability as well as your shot selection improve rapidly

I love this game on 360...

World Class is hard as shit for me though. I am West Ham and can NEVER beat the Big 4 and have a hard time keeping up with clubs like M'Boro and Pompey even. Almost all my points come from beating the likes of Reading or Derby..

ouch.

it almost worked for me.

i got needforspeed prostreet as one of the games for Xmas, i played it because i was curious. i didnt like it and it was skipping, i took it back hoping they would give me a new copy but also unopened.

i think i had some noob because i almost had it in my hand unopened so i could bring it back, but the other person told him to dont forget to open it.

i ended up liking the game a lot. so im kind of glad i kept it. thanks guy who told noob to open it

i forgot who i played the other day. 5-0 in first half. only scored 1 in the second half .

do the seasons get tougher year by year when you do manager mode?

seems like some of the teams i played the second season were a bit harder

i would guess youd have to be online at the same time, not sure how you would be able to play otherwise...im usually on at nights. but sometimes ill play during the day.

still haven't figured out how to play Be A Pro offline but not in training mode. I wanted to be able to play as one person and have them skill up through out the league or is it only an online feature?

Also i created a custom player and can't seem to add him to any roster.

I love sports games - but only Fifa taught me about the sheer pointless of a 0-0 tie.

Arsenal just canned me halfway through my first season in manager mode following a 4-1 loss to Bolton. I won 2 games in the first half of the season. Guess now I can drop down and take my customary job with the Brighton Seagulls, where expectations are low.

[Edited on January 17, 2008 at 1:37 PM. Reason : Nevermind I'm so bad even Brighton won't offer me a job]

^ haha, I might be heading that way. My best out of 5 games so far is a 0-0 tie. I do have the worst team in the league though.

Only a handful of teams will even offer me a job now. I kind of like it, though; I've never seen a sports game before with the balls to give you the boot before you even complete a season. I have narrowed down my job search to Figueirense in Brazil, Derry City of the Irish league, and Cordoba of the Spanish second division.

i was very surprised to see how miserable leeds has become (on this game) since their 15 minutes of fame crashed out a few years ago. but now the new and improved leeds has the likes of theo walcott on the wing, javier mascherano in the middle along with denilson. giovani dos santos out on the other wing. gareth bale at left wing back, and martin caceres holding down the defense

up top i got some random guys i found in the game, but im lookin to beef up the strikers with a big signing at the end of the year

they were ok i guess at a time where i either a) didnt watch or b) wasnt alive...and they spent a shitload of money they didnt have on players and it backfired...

but when i had championship manager 98/99(i think) for pc, i randomly picked that team, so they have always stuck with me as a side favorite, next to manchester united of course..

I've been West Ham in the game. Finished my first season in 3rd place in the league (I play on Pro) and got a Champions League (ECC) berth). I was runner up in the FA Cup to freaking Man City (they beat me on penalties) and lost to a Division One team in the League Cup 4th round.

I'm thinking about trying to take a Division Two English team and work my way up to the Prem but don't know how long that will take. Give me a D-Two team to take up..

Also, is there a way to update rosters? I have a data transfer kit but I can't find one ANYWHERE!

If by Division Two you mean League Two, I'd go with Shrewsbury Town, favored side of Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls.

If by Division Two you mean the old second division (the old old third division), League One, then I'd go with the Cobblers of Northampton Town.

w00t, had to go to the last day in the premieship with Leeds, and needed a draw or better to win...got the 1-1 draw with Everton to tie Portsmouth on pts but beat them on goal differential. and won the EFA Trophy (not champs league) againt Valencia in a 5-3 thriller.

transfer window opened and i made some crazy swoops/purchases:

signed Per Mertesacker on a free transfer(slowish but a beast), bought Bojan from barcelona for $5 mil, and signed a random name guy made in the game (85 overall, age 18, winger)

Haha I paid 7M pounds for Beckham and 8.5M for Iniesta in my West Ham dynasty/manager mode. I only got Beckham because I desperately needed a guy for corners and free kicks. I couldn't do ANYTHING from set pieces. He paid off immediately with a beautiful goal on a free kick in the CL Qualifying tie with Villareal...

I sold slowass balding Dean Ashton for 3M.. and got rid of Lee Bowyer and his f'd up nose.

Buying Euro 2008 I think... I can get it for 39.99 and all reviews seem to think it's a definite improvement over Fifa 08 in gameplay... I'll report back.

I know next to nothing about soccer, but I'd kind of like to get this game. Would my completely lack of knowledge about teams, players, league intricacies really hinder my liking of this game, do you think?

Just pick a team and go with it.

Though, if you want excellent soccer gameplay, you're better off getting Winning Eleven.

FIFA is definitely the prettier game and has more teams and players, but WE has a better feel.

Then again, if you don't have a feel for soccer to begin with, maybe WE's benefits won't matter to you.

But if you have a complete lack of knowledge of teams and players, then that is the perfect reason to buy WE. WE gameplay is better but it doesn't have the license for the clubs and players like FIFA has, which is a turn off for many people. If you don't care who's on the teams, pick WE for sure.

There are plenty of mods for WE on PC that include leagues, players, kits, etc.
