What does "nice" mean to you?

Are you willing to live in an established neighborhood that's not doing teardowns yet?

Go cruise through Cary and find some of the apartment complexes there. Something there would easily fit those requirements, it's just whether you want a slightly older, smaller condo in an established complex, or perhaps a townhouse, or if you'd like to stay at one of those new luxury condo's that are popping up in random spots.

We're going to check out pinewinds this weekend. I know he has found a few others he likes. I'll tell him to post them on this thread and see if anyone is familiar with them.

Thanks for the help.

And St8BarcardiL, the sketchy mens have love for my booty. I am safe wherever I roam

how are those neighborhoods on the southern part of avent ferry? (below lake dam rd)

probably too college-crowded given the proximity, but figure it's worth asking

well Lake Johnson Mews is the place that repaved last year over spring break and towed everyones cars.

I would recommend Wildwoods of Lake Johnson . . . it's off Jones Franklin not far from 440. But no garage.

EW. Did NOT like Pinewinds...the lady in the leasing office did not seem to know what she was talking about...couldn't answer my questions...very unorganized....apartment they showed us smelled bad and I found faulty wiring in the hot water cabinets....rusted air conditioning unit....yellowed wallpaper and OLDDDDDDD items like fridge and oven. No washer and dryer which is kinda annoying, but expected. Kids running around unsupervised.
We were NOT impressed.

Then we headed to Austin Grove off New Bern and we liked it a LOT...we got there right at 5:00 so the guy in the leasing office gave us the stuff to look over and invited us back on Sunday. We walked around and talked to tenants and were pretty happy with what we saw and heard from the tenants. Maybe we will see the model tomorrow. I read the reviews and it seems like the main issues are toilet flushing, noise, power flickering, and doggy poop....They do have garages for rent and they offer a cable/internet package for $50 a month which seems like a fairly good deal. Anyhow, I'll see what happens if we get to go back. Check the reviews on apartmentratings.com

If you are looking to buy I'd check Knightdale if that not too far for you.

I haven't come towards State that way during AM rush since the 264 has been opened, so I can't speak for the traffic much, but a lot of new developments on the cheaper end are available there

With the 264 and 540 now you have pretty good access to most of Raleigh.

I'd also look into Morrisville - in East Morrisville close to Weston you'll only be a 20 minute drive from campus, towards Carpernter Town about 25, prolly 30 from Cary Park. Traffic isn't bad once you get out of Morrisville - everyone else is driving towards Morrisville, not away from it. You'll be a bit over $150 though.
