You can create smart playlists for your ipod based on any criteria. I think Top 25 Most Played Songs is in there by default. You could easily create Top 5 Most Played artists if you wanted.

none of those bands even deserve to be in the same block of text as btbam. most of them couldnt even play the new btbam album let alone write anything half as musically complex.

only saying this because i sense the sarcasm

the national was bad live? I saw them on Letterman and they sounded amazing I thought. I wasn't really listening to the singing

I guess I'm worried because I'm going to see them at Cat's Cradle

speaking of driving, sousapickle and i discovered the greatest night driving mix ever

listen to "in the aeroplane over the sea" from beginning to end in complete silence

then listen to the blue album from beginning to end whilst singing along as loudly as possible

the national is amazing live...seen them 3 times now and was blown away each time. and they're really fucking humble dudes. always standing outside before/after shows to talk to their fans.

See, I'm one of those people who just has to sit and take it all in, right down to the clapping in the background at the end of "Oh Comely" (it's a very Pet Sounds moment, it is).

There's only one note I'm actually compelled to sing on a regular basis, and it's not even on the record; a sixth above on "wire" during "Two-Headed Boy, Pt. 2."

my right now:

paramore *
modest mouse
SOAD
tool

* this one is a real departure for me in terms of my typical musical taste. if they had a male lead singer or if they were from california i'm pretty sure i wouldn't be listening. reminds me of early no doubt + k's choice + veruca salt - ish. i'm really enjoying it right now but i think it'll be one of those that fizzles fast.

By no means the best stuff I've ever heard, but that's what I've been listening to lately.
