I'm just saying that the study considers it a form of abortion. I do not personally think it is.

If you really want to talk at a fundamental level, a new life is created when fertilization occurs. If you destroy the blastocyst, whether implanted or not, you are destroying a new unique human life.

^Then you think that birth control pills are abortion, because they prevent implantation into the uterine wall.^^I don't see anywhere on that link that indicates they used the morning after pill in their statistics. Maybe you see something that I don't.[Edited on August 2, 2007 at 12:00 AM. Reason : 2]

^ Is that what they do? I thought BC pills prevented fertilization...?Sorry I don't know about them too much, only because me and my girl try to lead a healthy drug free life-style, and so that is one option we would never consider.

Thanks.Well I guess a regular user could never know how it works each time one takes it, as it could be either of 3 routes.

I forget the numbers, but they say that a significant percentage of fertilized eggs never implant into the uterine lining even without contraceptives. This is especially true of older women. Meaning that if they are trying to have a kid, they are probably mass-murderers by anti-abortionists' ass-backwards definition of abortion.[Edited on August 2, 2007 at 12:08 AM. Reason : 2]

i would not feel bad at all if i cloned like 50 of myself and i thought of 50 different ways to kill myself
8/2/2007 8:10:40 AM
you don't know too much about cloning do you?I mean what you're saying is basically the same as saying you'd kill an identical twin if you had one. it's not like clones are some magic copy that is exaclty the same. it's just the same dna.
8/2/2007 11:34:36 AM
so, if two identical twins from one family (say, two twin brothers named Bill and Bob), meet two identical twins from a totally different family (say, two twin sisters names Ann and Alice) ... and the two sets pair off and marry each other and have kids ...Bill and Ann's child will be the genetic brother/sister of Bob and Alice's child.the same thing would apply if you and your spouse each got cloned, and then your clones got together and had kids.... all of the children would be brothers and sisters.look at another scenario: If you have a clone, and you clone goes off and has kids (with anyone else, it doesnt matter who)... your clone's children will be half-brothers or half-sisters with your own childrenits obvious once you think about it, but the first time i thought about it, I was like woah. which really has nothing to do with the relation of abortion to murder, but it's still kind of neat.[Edited on August 2, 2007 at 7:55 PM. the scary part is that if by some strange chance a kid from each couple were born at the same time and place and the bassinets were switched, it'd be impossible to tell which kid is from which couple.
8/2/2007 11:59:48 PM
wow. gg. and hmmm.... should either couple necessarily care if their kids did get switched with their identical twins (or clones, as the case may be) ? and why? would the birth child any more "theirs" than the genetic equivalent?(i think i have an answer, but im not sure if it's correct)

^ yes, exactly.good point.and since it will be too hard to prove intent, most women prosecuted for Birth Control related murders could plea bargain down to involuntary manslaughter.any good lawyer can get her 3-5 in minimum security -- with time off for good behavior, she'd likely only pull about 15 months.
