Again, that mongoloid browser is the only reason you can attempt to do what it is you're trying to do.

i mean that's great and allit truly isbut that doesn't mean it's not a pile of dungi appreciate Homo habilis for getting up off his ass and learning to walk, but just because he did all the legwork to invent it doesn't make him the best goddamn sprinter ever

All this makes me so glad I only develop for internally used web apps where we can force everyone to use the same browser

^^ Netscape (Mozilla) was the original graphical WWW browser, i believe... i mean, at least it predates IE. and FF is the direct descendent of that original Netscape, since the current Netscape is an AOL abomination.

^ almost.NCSA Mosaic was the first graphical www browser. one of the co-authors of Mosaic left NCSA and later formed Mosaic Communications Corporation to develop the Mosaic browser technology into a commercial product. Mosaic Communications Corporation was later renamed Netscape Communications and developed Netscape Navigator

oh, yeah... Mosaic. i remember that one. it was a legacy browser still available in EOS labs in the mid 90's[Edited on July 20, 2007 at 3:38 PM. Reason : ]

turns out Firefox is subject to the same security "flaw" that they were complaining about with IEhttp://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=396http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/archive/2007/07/20/hey-mozilla-quotes-are-not-legal-in-a-url.aspx

Preach on Stein. It's funny, I just made my first website in almost three years over the past few weeks. It's also funny hearing people say they have to make multiple style sheets for each browser. AHahahAhaHA.Dude, the last major web app I did (2004 mind you) supported IE5.01, 5.5, 6.0, 6.1, FF 1.4 on up, Opera 7.54+, Safari, IE 5.2 for the Mac, Avanti, and several other retarded browsers. And I'm talking pixel perfect support.Completely xhtml compliant, css 2.0 compliant, wcag, section 508 and xml compliant. One stylesheet. And fuck if it wasn't the most retardedly complex site. Now, I just made this little portfolio site in a week. Plopped in the code, checked it a couple of times in Firefox, IE7/IE6 and Safari for windows. Done. No hacks, no bullshit. It's not hard people.

every major site should add a stylesheet that hides everything on a page if its any version of IE and only display a link for firefox at work i have to support all browsers and i've found IE to be the most tricky but i've found a work around for everything problem i've encountered so its really not so bad

whats the best tabbed browsing add-on for IE6?
10/12/2007 12:06:25 AM
IE7
10/12/2007 12:17:01 AM
ie6 even has tabbed browsing?
10/12/2007 12:21:58 AM
^^
10/12/2007 1:10:36 AM
^I was being sarcastic. There is no reason to stick with IE 6 and not upgrade to 7....especially if you want tabs.

eh, I prefer not to ever use IE. Firefox, ftw!!!I have IE7, but rarely use it.
10/12/2007 1:51:41 PM
all i know is, from a graphics standpoint... a lot of gradients and colors render like balls in IE, even in IE7
10/12/2007 2:39:56 PM
IE 6 is better than IE7 because IE6 and windows explorer are the same thing.I used to have problems with the IE7 interface but i managed to get rid of all the stuff i didn't want thru some reg edits. its still not as customizable as I want, but atleast it makes it usable on Vista or any other machine with IE7.
