I could see a stock motor going back in it. I mean, he's got to have over $2k in the thing right now so he better do something.

Like I said...get an engine out of an '03 or newer....adds ~30 HP compared to the '01s so it's an "upgrade" that will give you no problems whatsoever...

^ or the earlier, less powerful one if it's any significant amount cheaper. who cares how much power a car like that has, anyway? if that's a factor to you, get a different car.

Say what? Last time I checked, power is a pretty big factor in a sports sedan. the 00-02 models were a little underpowered, but that extra 30 hp makes a difference.

To answer your question, pretty much everyone who bought the V8 version, which is about 90% of LS drivers.

A stock 03-06 LS will run in the 14's.

A stock manual V6 LS will run in the 16's.

So if +/- 2 seconds = about the same performance, then you're right.

Yeah I realize that now.

It sucks that they never offered a manual tranny for the v8's. I guess that was a little too complicated for Ford.

yeah, i don't understand it either. especially considering they mated a v8/manual in their "original" late model sport sedan, the sho.

wow...

fwd yamaha engineered manual taurus =/= rwd jag engineered lincoln ls.

i don't understand why they didn't either but associating those two is like comparing an Audi S4 to a Bentley Continental Flying Spur

where did i compare them anywhere but the fact that they both were/are marketed as fmc sport sedans?

the point is why offer the manual in the economy model of a supposed sport sedan, but not in the "performance" model.

Also the original sho was a v6 and i'm pretty sure the v8 shos didn't have manuals.

Plain and simple... lincoln doesn't do manual.

just get a 5.0 out of a 96 02 explorer. has more power than the mustang motor. and is obd2 that is all
