ah, the last time i looked into it it seemed not that bad but it's been a few years and i didnt look that hard... but one of my best friends has one so i just get all the benefits with none of the hassles

yeah, the biggest ass pain i remember off the top of my head is the requirement that you have to have a place of business. a certain amount of square footage designated as office space, etc.

yea I remember that one.. they actually come out and inspect that shit every year too.. my buddy owns one of those little strip malls so he calls the parking lot his lot and they let it pass haha

3rd generation F body. I'm on my second one, they're pretty awesome cars. Ones in average condition aren't too exspensive.

straight line yes, curves no... I had a supercharged f body, forged bottom end, cam, headers, heads and all that good stuff and it was fun as hell to slide around in but it wasnt good for much else. i guess i could have put more money into it to get it some traction but..no.

oh yeah, potential is there to be a great straight-liner. they can even be made to generate big lateral grip, but it will never be or handle like a sports car.

and a 3rd gen F-bod isn't even worth a damn in a straight line, at least in stock form.

What? They are too sports cars. Mine handle and accelerate great. My first one, 305 V8 Camaro is a beast. My new Trans Am is even better. It's got a factory turbo.

and you and i have very, very different definitions of "beast", "handles great", and for that matter, "accelerates great", assuming they aren't modified substantially.




i'm not hating on them...they're a good way to have a helluva lot of power for a lot of money (but in a 3rd gen, it'll take a built motor...no amount of bolt ons will do it, except bolt on power adders, of course). they just aren't at all what i want. i'd rather have great agility and handling than straight-line acceleration (i'd like both, but don't have the money for it right now)

1st gen MR2s are going to cost you between $500 and $5000 depending on the age/quality and whether or not they're supercharged. Finding a high quality supercharged MR2 is going to be tough considering they're old, but I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage (they're Toyotas, right?). The supercharged ones can push around 170hp with pulley mods and such. I should add that the curb weight is around 2100lbs. With modification (i.e. removal) you can lower them below 2000 lbs. Hell, if you're insane, drop in a 3SGTE engine (the 2nd gen turbo charged model) and then you can have a sub 2000 lb. car pushing 250 hp.

On the other hand, a 2nd gen MR2 will be between $5000 and $15000 depending on the modification, rarity (anything above 1991 is considered rare, especially if turbocharged) and such.

I prefer the handling of a 1st gen much more than a 2nd gen, the 1st gen's were just so much more like race cars. On the other hand, the 2nd gen MR2 turbos are really, really fast.

^ nope. never even had to replace the belt. you might have to adjust the belt eventually. there was also a very light rattle coming from it especially when it was cold, like maybe a bearing or something. it wasn't a problem. though, and it did it for a while and didn't get worse. it definitely wasn't loud enough for you to hear it with the top up or while moving, and it typically went away when the car warmed up.

pretty sure that integra would run your V8 car in a straight line, and i bet it would be pretty tight against the turbo car

and despite its gayass FWD, it would kill the shit out of either of them in anything besides a straight line

i mean, come on...a 3rd gen F-bod is no cooler than an integra GSR. it is also not even arguably a sports car.

^ also, my Evo--while not exactly a sports car, although far more of one than your F-body--has a button on the dash to set the car for "gravel". in addition, many a Camaro has run on a dirt track, I'm sure.

Man, y'all people need to stop hating on the F-bodies. I have a Camaro and it will beat most everything on the road. All those mini-vans, and slow ass SUVs I have no problems with. Almost all camrys give me no trouble at all (except for some of those pesky V6s). Hell most of the people I race off the line aren't even trying to beat me. I really school all those fuckers.
