I had actually seen this not long before that kid got famous for imitating the main character in the VA shooting incident. INCREDIBLY fucked up movie, but def. worth a watch

Donnie Darko ?I saw this film about three Asian kids abandonded by their mom in this apartment, the one kid dies and the others almost starve, nobody will help them then the movie just ends. I forget the title but if you watched it you'll remember.I second Schindler's List as well.

I'll definitely second A.I. I remember the whole "were the people at the end aliens or robots?" conversations that followed. Also, and this is pretty ironic, "The Passion of the Christ" left you with a pretty soulless feeling at the end. Not a knock on the movie, but nobody was smiling on the way out of that one.Oh, and what was that movie with Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, and Natalie Portman on relationships? That one, too.
