I'll believe this LF-A time when its done with a production vehicle on street legal tires. Until then, all fluff
1/2/2008 1:45:18 PM
^ agreed. but then again if any company can use the pfm card in engineering its toyotai mean the heavier supra did handle and ride better then c4 vettes w/ smaller tires. (pure fuggin magic)
1/2/2008 5:00:42 PM
These claims seem absurd to me. If you have an idea of weight and power... You're going to get some idea of what the car's capable of. There's also the fact that the Japanese have built many "fast" cars in the past, that don't feel all that great to drive, nor are reliable on track. Not fun brings up the 3000gt/supra, not reliable (but oh what a great drive) the RX-7. Ahmet <--don't listen to anything I say, I don't like most Japanese cars.

2008 Lexus LF-A Roadster Concept revealed at the NAIAS.Wow, this almost looks like a handmade rare Italian exotic!
1/16/2008 7:13:04 AM
God Damn thats sexy! It looks much better than the previous pictures...WOW
1/16/2008 8:24:27 AM
yeah but since its a concept it was hand made and is exotic ... if they make it look like that in production i'll be impressed.

This Dutch auto journalist just a few days ago says the LFA is the BEST car he has ever driven! And he says it should be parked next to Zondas and Carerra GTs and McLaren F1s... wow.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytjOyB3VwIoAnyway, watch the video to hear the LFA zoom past at high speeds as he speaks at some racetrack. At 0:27 and 1:05. It sounds positively murderous! **********************************************************************The production car is out today at the Tokyo Motor Show... after the first concept being shown in 2005! I think it took longer than the Veyron! Here is a nice video of the production model going at high speeds:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fTfRh0_RQ4Official Lexus video, also very nice:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6SySdNaCysConfigurator:http://ww2.lexus-lfa.com/index.htmlAmazing specs!4.8 litre V10552 hp, 354 lb-ft6-speed sequential gearbox9,000 rpm redline!!!3,263 lbs0-60 mph in 3.6 sec (expect 3.3)202 mph top500 units$375,000 Veyron-esque spoilerDamn, it is rarer and more expensive than the Murcielago! And with that redline, it is obvious Toyota have gone with the racy F1 approach, rather than a gentleman's cruiser. The floodgates have been opened for showdowns with Italian and German supercars for the next several months, and of course, with the GT-R.Overall, the car is gorgeous and quite unique looking. I prefer the headlights of the concept though (esp those of the roadster concept you see on this page). And the wheels are bloody gorgeous.Hi-res galleries:http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/lexus-lf-a-0/full/http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/lexus-lfa-configurator/full/http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/tokyo-2009-2011-lexus-lfa/full/[Edited on October 21, 2009 at 11:47 PM. I thought this was supposed to be front engine?where's the engine on this one? the vents kinda make it seem like its mid-mounted

10/22/2009 12:09:14 AM
I think it's ugly. OEP, are you American? (you said bloody)The headlights and tail lights look like my gfs IS250. The scoop and dropped window line remind me of the Hyundai Genesis coupe. The spoiler came off a Veyron. The seats are Mercedes. Lexus had a perfectly clean slate to make their own supercar...and they took the safe route and didn't design anything dramatic and copied styling cues from everyone else. Nothing ground breaking here. I don't like this car.

I still stand by what I said. They are both Lexus so yes, they will have similar styling cues. However, the LF-A is much sleeker looking than the IS250. To each their own.[Edited on October 23, 2009 at 9:59 AM. Reason : .]

$375,000? LMAO, what a joke. You could buy 3 ZR1s with that money, even though you only need one to beat it.
10/24/2009 1:14:09 AM
^lollooks mid mounted to mekinda like a Maserati or an S2000
10/24/2009 1:39:23 AM
Kinda like an S-two-fucking-thousand? Oh wait. That's sarcasm right?
10/24/2009 7:32:44 AM
^He is speaking about the placement of the engine in relation to the axles. The s2000 is mid engined. Have you ever looked under the hood?
10/24/2009 10:23:04 AM
Ja, as far as I know the "mid engine" label is assigned when the entire engine is inside the wheelbase. Oddly enough, some mid engined cars don't qualify, while a few front engined cars do. S2000 has the entire engine behind the front axle, so that passes, I believe the 350z does as well, but not positive on that. Some mid engined cars have to be qualified as "mid rear", and many will refer to the S2000 as "mid front" or "front mid". The LF-A I believe has a front mount design, it may very well have the engine behind the front axle as well, but I wouldn't call it a "midship" either, since I don't think the engine is behind the passenger compartment...

^^ The LFA will smash every one of GT's numbers, but a Porsche is a Porsche! If anybody is wondering why they are only making 500, and why it is so expensive ($375K), you should read this very interesting and informative read:http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/26/2011-lexus-lfa-first-drive/Here is the 2nd paragraph to pique your interest:

I thought corvettes had those tubes
12/3/2009 12:11:00 PM
12/3/2009 1:16:21 PM
I think you guys read it wrong. I think they're talking about the offset gear mounted on the crank, not the torque tube.
12/3/2009 3:28:34 PM
Lol. No I got that part. Not too many vehicles have actual torque tubes, which is what I was excited about. But the gear thing is cool too.
12/3/2009 3:33:06 PM
Okay I read Autoblog's review and I'm not "seeing" what OEPII1 said I should.
12/3/2009 3:44:52 PM
it looks a lot like a celica that's been stepped onstill looks better in blackbut yah, i'd much rather have a carrera gt for that money
12/3/2009 3:56:51 PM
I think that is one badass Lexus. But that's in comparison with the rest of the Lexus vehicle line. Like the article said, they made it just because they could, not really to compete with other cars. With that said, I too would take a Carrera GT. Too bad they aren't making them though. :/ So really, I think I'd just have to get a Lamborghini Murcielago. But then again, I'd rather just get a Gallardo LP 560-4 and pocket the difference (I like the smaller Gallardo more actually).[Edited on December 3, 2009 at 4:11 PM. Reason : .]
12/3/2009 4:07:47 PM
I'm just trying to figure out how you can make a car that expensive and not see anything as a result. Gee whiz, carbon fiber and aluminum and yet it still weighs 3200lbs. Amazing.
