this matt kid must have gotten his ass kicked by some cops one time, he seems to hate them pretty badly.

what about North Carolina?
6/10/2007 10:28:04 AM
I can tell you from personal experience that the police will pay attention to you if you give them the finger. This opinion was made by a federal court, so I would imagine that it would hold some weight in North Carolina:

i was in a limo once on capital with tinted windows, RPD was next to us so I flipped him off thinking he couldnt see me. He turns toward me, then flips me the bird back! everyone in the limo were laughing our asses off.
6/11/2007 1:09:26 AM
RPD is very different from the Hwy Patrol in terms of the officers
6/11/2007 1:11:12 AM
^yea troopers usually seem to be pissed off, at least everytime ive talked to one/been pulled over by one
6/11/2007 1:28:25 AM
to flip them off, just act like you are scratching your nose.
6/11/2007 1:38:40 AM
Yea actually all RPD I've ever met were pretty cool.
6/11/2007 11:43:08 AM
It never ends with these troopers.Last nigth I was on the way back from Morehead and was on hwy 70. Had the cruise set 5 mph over in a 55 and there was a 18 wheeler probably 100 yards in front of me. It was 8:45 and about dark. We were both in the right lane. There were two trooper cars parked in the median with no lights on. One of them was a Tahoe. I saw their outline as another passed in the other lane and had its headlights on. The Tahoe is facing me, does a U turn 25 yards in front of me and I had switch into the left lane and hit the brakes. The trooper keeps the Taho floored and drives 100 yards up to directly behind the 18 wheeler. Then he finally turns his headlights on. Then he rides in the middle of the road for a half a minute, probably to give the truck driver a heart attack, and then he turns his blue lights on.I called *hp and told the guy that answered the whole thing. He asked what highway and what mile and what kind of vehicle etc. and said that my complaint had been noted.
6/13/2007 12:26:24 PM
^ dumbass, shoulda plowed right into him and sued the shit of of them
6/13/2007 1:32:21 PM
there was a sc trooper that did something like that (^^) in front of me a few weeks agoi saw him in the median but he must have never seen me because if he would have pulled out .5 seconds later we would have both been toast because i was in the right lane doing 78 in a 70 and he pulled right in front of me to go get some truck
6/13/2007 2:17:58 PM
For open container laws:Whats the difference in the driver or passengers getting the open container ticket? Is it the same charge/penalty or is it worse if you're driving vs riding?

^^ nope, my cousin was getting pulled near wilmington, slammed on the brakes, the cop rear ended him, and he got $8,000 out of the countythey are state employees just like everyone else, department of insurance and risk management handles it[Edited on June 13, 2007 at 6:59 PM. Reason : blah]
6/13/2007 6:58:21 PM
Yea, skack you're wrong as hell, friend of mine got rear ended by a state trooper and they gave him over the value of his car without any hassle. Why the fuck wouldn't they be liable?!??! They make everybody else carry liability insurance, surely they're just as liable.
6/13/2007 7:15:02 PM
There are municipalities that legally make themselves not liable for accidents.
6/13/2007 7:55:42 PM
well if so, thats fucked up
6/13/2007 8:04:12 PM
^^ not in north carolina. It's a state law that they can't do that.
6/13/2007 10:34:51 PM
it wasn't a NC trooper but at the intersection of avent ferry and athens i did see a cop turn on his blue lights just to go through the red light and once he got on avent ferry just kept on cruising at 40mph.
6/14/2007 12:14:02 AM
So, sitting at red lights wastes gas. He's just trying to help NC out.
6/14/2007 12:15:35 AM
^^ they do that shit all the time.
6/14/2007 1:55:40 AM
a cop will do that sometimes depending on the nature of the call. you'll see them come to an intersection, turn the lights and possibly siren on, proceed through the intersection, then turn them off because they don't want the assailant knowing they are coming. a good example of this would be a domestic dispute where if they knew the cops were coming, it could possibly make the situation worse and turn into a hostage situation, etc. others times you see a cop do that they might have got dispatched to a call and a closer officer took the call and put the original back in service. i highly doubt an officer would abuse the blue lights just to avoid sitting at a red light. think about it for a second. where do they have to be in such a hurry to go since they are already at work. that would be such a stupid way to get in trouble. i'm sure admin gets a shitload of complaints about cops running an intersection just because they can. a cop isn't that dumb. i know the f.d. gets complaints of engines running intersections "just to get through" then turn lights off on the other side when in reality that isn't true at all. we could be the 2nd or 3rd due dispatched to a structure fire and the 1st due engine arrive on scene and advise there is "nothing showing". when they advise that, the rest of the responding equipment will turn off lights and siren and respond with normal traffic for safety reasons. people never know what the radio inside the car or truck is telling them what to do and are so quick to jump to assumptions.[Edited on June 14, 2007 at 8:38 AM. the one who gave me a 90 in a 55 yesterday was pretty nice.. usually they're dicks when giving tickets for speeds like that lol
6/14/2007 10:43:41 PM
every, and i mean EVERY RPD i have ever met was a huge prick and can go fuck themselves. the one who might not fit that description was a rookie in training and looked younger than jbaz.
6/14/2007 11:00:24 PM
i've never had any real real complaint with rpd except for the motorcycle units. nchp has always generally been nice and professional to me as well. sure, i've wanted to get pissed and call them all dicks but then i remember i've broken the law (excessively in a lot of cases) and they're just doing their job. i do still expect them to act like professionals and treat me with respect.in my experience, it's the small town barney fife cops that are the real assholes.[Edited on June 14, 2007 at 11:41 PM. the worst cops hands down are the fucking wilmington pigs. I respect cops (excluding NCHP) for the work they do but there is no better adjective to describe the wilmington police then the adjective in my first sentence. It seems that they have nothing better to do then harass college students. This past May graduating seniors could not even have a cook out (parents & grandparents) included during the middle of the fucking day w/o being harrassed by the 5-0. That is just one of many situations i have witnessed the Wilmington cops using there nazi powers on the populace
6/15/2007 2:57:18 AM
^They dont go out there for shits and giggles. If a citizen complains we have to respond. But i still understand what you are saying.the only reason they would do that is if they are getting complaints from the neighbors, so blame it on them callin the cops. You have to understand that it is their JOB to respond to that call if they are being too loud or whatever. They dont need to be dicks about it. And about the bumpin blue lights to get through stoplights, UNDERPSI nailed it. There are some who abuse it, but for the majority u try to respong to calls without lights and sirens because #1 people lock on brakes and almost kill u when they see u behind them with lights on, plus they slow down and slow ur response time, and #2 if it is a situation that can be compromised by lights and siren but still needs a quick response like a domestic, B&E, armed robbery etc. Oh and whoever wanted to know about the open container it is a class 3 misdemeanor and court appearance is mandatory. I believe whoever has it in their possession is the one going to court. But if you are driving and have consumed alcohol you can get teh charge(Transporting an open container of alcoholic beverage after consuming) and they are gonna check you for DWI(dont quote me but i think this is right) Im not a lawyer[Edited on June 15, 2007 at 8:43 PM. Wilmington is no small town. Fucked up shit has been going on there for years. They should concentrate those edgy cops to the south side of town where they are really needed, instead of targeting students.
6/16/2007 8:43:49 PM
They probably just learn from the best RPD. Because we all know busting underage drinking at football tailgates and cruising down brentroad looking for parties to break up takes precedent over catching some real criminals.
6/16/2007 9:04:46 PM
An RPD cop pulled me for going 100+ in a 60, just told me to slow down.
6/16/2007 9:54:18 PM
^^yeah, that's right... because the cops really have a choice in what they're told to do. come on. sure, there are some asshole cops out there but the real problems are further up the chain. if you want to target someone for this "harrassment", you're barking up the wrong tree.
