Don't be fooled by the first three weeks of anatomy, they are a joke compared to the other 9 weeks. Dr. Johnson loves to scare you. The first week isn't too bad, it a lot of intro material (some power points that just outline the entire anatomy section), but it gets progressively harder. I always thought it (1st year) felt like studying for finals every 3 weeks instead of once a semester. Just ignore Johnson's scare tactics and stay on top of the material.

^ amen.just plan on spending every moment not in class/lab/sleeping reviewing the day's material and (if possible) prepping for the upcoming material. if you allow three hours for meals, one hour for exercise, and 8 hours for sleep each day, you will have LOTS of time to study the material (for a typical day with 5hr of class in the morning, you are left with seven solid hours of study time...more than enough; not to mention the weekends)i highly doubt anyone is that disciplined, but if you even get close to that regimen you will probably get honors (provided you have a decent study method). but there are more efficient methods of studying that will leave you with significantly more free time than that and still get you good grades, you'll just have to find what works best for you.and remember, you never have to go more than 3 weeks without a true break - every third weekend after that friday exam (as long as they do it that way again) can be totally study-free...as long as you aren't infected with N. gunnerrheae[Edited on July 15, 2007 at 10:08 PM. ^ only at some. i'm just assuming someone would want to go to classes, since the audio situation has been kind of spotty and doesn't look like it will improve much. but there's about one AR per week, on average (not including case). that number was much higher in anatomy and neuroanatomy....wonder why

Pretty amazing thing just happened to me today. I applied for the entering class of fall '07 and was waitlisted at WVU and Wake. Got my rejection letter from WVU last week, no go there. But then I get a call a couple of hours ago...there was an unexpected withdrawal and I was next on the list. Needless to say my rejection was reversed and I am not the newest addition to the WVU SOM Class of 2011
