It's pretty scary how much Rampage has improved his boxing since the beginning of his mma career, he also showed good technique in his last fight against Eastman. Combine that with his sick brute strength from wrestling and you have a hell of a fighter. I think it'll be a pretty bad matchup for Henderson because they're both wrestlers but Rampage is much bigger and more powerful. Also, I thought Karo's standup looked much improved as well. If he keeps showing up in good shape he will be tough to deal with.

karo looked good, stand up was punishing...but what was up with that little song he sang at the end? "My judo throws are the best in the world"? that shit was weak. Now Din's post fight interview was the hotness, "I am one slick motherfucker. Where Mayweather at?...All these boxers talking shit, I'm the motherfucker to fight right here." too great.

^^you have to understand that karo has been absolutely pissed for awhile about the way the UFC treated himhe was supposed to get a title shot but was passed up and he never seems to get the big fight until this one, understanding that and considering the way hes been on a tear in his standup improvement lately he deserves to talk shit and he deserves a title shot....when are parisyans fights not exciting, action packed, and great displays of MMA?and i was wrong about jackson liddell, as i ws about most of the fight card (jardine and salaverry hurt me badly) im glad ive never been immature enough to get on here and gloat when my predictions and try to act like another poster doesnt know what they are talking about because their opinion isnt mine....rampage whooped that ass and its not a bad thing, chuck and rampage both handled it with class and i do not believe the outcome was an "upset" and i look forward to the opportunities and matchups this title change brings to the table...im also lookin forward to seeing more of this cocked-diesel evil Common lookalike Houston Alexander...WOW...he strikes me as the Rameiu Thierry Sokodjou of the UFC..just dont make the mistake of feeding another championship contender to him ive heard his submissions are sound as wellill go ahead and make the early prediction, that Rampage is going to lose to Hendo and Hendo will have three belts...this one could go the distance thoughdin thomas is great i hope he gets more run in the public eye, it is evident that he has amazing skill and focus, great job securing that armbar despite the slam that was beautiful...and using his leg as a third arm to try to sink in that RNC...and weathering that absolute fuckin fury jeremey stephens unleashed on him once he escaped...the lightweight division rocks but i think the light heavy weights are catchin up fast[Edited on May 27, 2007 at 6:46 PM. Karo's song was a take off the Kazakhstania national anthem as performed by Borat. Also, you may have noticed that he said he needed to thank Reggie Warren. If you aren't sure who that is, google or search for him on youtube, and you will see that Karo wasn't taking the post fight very seriously. Karo is awesome, I almost looked foward to his fight more then the main event last night. He totally dominated Burkeman in the 2nd, and at times looked like he was using the 2nd as a glorified training session for his stand up. Fortunately for Burkeman, he found his 2nd wind in the 3rd frame and didn't continue to get beat so badly. Karo showed last night why he is a true contender. I still believe he got a little of a screw job vs. Diego Sanchez (one judge had the fight 30-26 Sanchez, which was absurd) and the fact that he was all but relegated to bottom after being the #1 contender is a slap in the face. He probably won't get a title shot this year, Serra vs. Hughes isn't happening until the fall I believe, so he will probably have to prove himself again before getting a shot at the title.Henderson does have a shot against Jackson. He's fought heavier fighters much of his Pride career since Pride didn't have a ~185 division. When Pride finally brought in fighters at that weight, Henderson dominated, with only 1 loss vs. a 185er in last years Grand Prix. In a lot of ways, Henderson and Rampage are a lot alike, both having wrestling backgrounds, Dan's being more accomplished, and both being known as tough fighters capable of knock outs standing. With that said, I think Rampage runs through him. I am amazed every time I am reminded that Rampage is only 28 years old. If he keeps up his training regime, and assuming that knocking out Chuck wasn't a fluke, I wouldn't pencil in Shogun as the top dog at 205 just yet. Sure, he broke the hell out of Jackson the last time they fought, but I get the feeling that this is a different Jackson. As far as the Houston Alexander dude, I was impressed by his power, but it's a little too early to compare him to Sokoudjou. Sokoudjou has knocked out a legit contender in Lil Nog and a very accomplished fighter in Arona. Alexander has knocked out Keith Sardine, a TUF semi-finalist, who has only fought 1 other fighter in the UFC other then Alexander who wasn't a TUFer. Alexander did impress me by knocking Sardine out with punches in the clinch, but to me the jury is still way out on him.

Hendo v Rampage will be a fantastic fight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hollywood holding 3 belts eventually. Karo looked amazing though...a fight with him and GSP would be something to get excited about. And I agree that Houston could be a force...he almost knocked Keith Jardin's head from his body.

Rampage will reign for a while now. He didnt have the best team in Japan as far as trainers, sparers etc. Not tryn to make excuses but he really didnt have a will to fight their anymore. Hes home now, got juanito at his side, ufc got his back (now, dana really wanted him as the sacrificial lamb but that plan backfired). I see him smashing Hendo. Lindland > Hendo. fight will be similar to Page vs lindland.Karo was sick. nuff said.Houston scared me at first. Jardine hit him with a couple of good shots. Had him wobbled. But he quickly reversed it. He has a shitload of power in those massive guns. bright future ahead.

why do they only let 2 people fight at the same time?why dont they put like 3 people or 4 people in the ring and let them go at it?
5/29/2007 1:15:18 AM
b/c this isn't WWF nor a saturday night downtown on glenwoodI say 2 years from now UFC will be in full form. as i see it by then there would have been plenty of diesel big ass dudes who have crawled out of the woodwork and received some sort of formal fight training so they can compete. And when i say this i mean dudes like Kimo....just someone who is out looking to kick the living shit out of people

like a new bob sapp type cat, but in ufc?he was boring after the initial "jesus he's huge" shock wore off[Edited on May 29, 2007 at 6:28 AM. Reason : er]

5/29/2007 7:01:40 PM
yes. it's true
5/29/2007 7:20:44 PM
on tonight's sportscenter it was mentioned that liddell and jackson were out at nightclubs all during the week leading up to the fight, for whatever that's worth and whatever that means, if true
5/29/2007 7:26:28 PM
i would say thats not worth very much considering that alot of professional athletes can be found out at the clubs on any given night. Now if you said they were out all night the night before of the fight I might think they werent taking it very seriously
5/29/2007 7:37:20 PM
professional fighting of any sort, especially mma like ufc, is a completely different animal from any other professional sport in the manner in which it's athletes prepare for their momentyou've got a few dates per annum for which to be in prototypical condition, and you're out on the town three or more times in the week leading up to a fight?
