I like NY, don't know much about DC except that I stayed in Arlington overnight during a layover when I was flying back to ATL from Europe

I guess I should have stated this, but with that comment I was mainly referring to Lower Manhattan, which is quite old. With their narrow windy streets and lots of really old buildings. I definitely wasn't referring to anything above 14th St.

my gf and i have a 500 sf junior 1 br with a tiny backyard (rare) in hell's kitchen. $1650/mo which is good for the area. the yard is small, but enough room for a grill, table, two chairs, plants, flowers, and my bike... the grill is key. great spot with awesome restaurants and bars right across the street. plus i'm only a 15-20 minute walk from my office.

^^ 500 square feet. Two people. I would go crazy.

But if you're enjoying it, that's awesome. Must be fun to live in NYC.

^ its suprising how little space you need when living with someone in less than 500 sf. Also it forces you to not be such a lazy ass and sit around the house all day.
