4/29/2007 2:15:13 PM
he was listed as a TE, said he was a tweener with good hands and a good receiverwas a lb converted to fbi dunno tho, would be nice to have gaines blocking, him catching
4/29/2007 2:16:17 PM
why would we pick a lb when we need a s
4/29/2007 2:18:34 PM
the panthers better not switch davis back to safety. They better be getting a safety in free agency or trades.

jarrett and jenkins for ed reed
4/29/2007 3:15:50 PM
I'd prefer Colbert and Carter and Jenkins for Ed Reed but whatever works
4/29/2007 3:18:31 PM
either way
4/29/2007 3:20:17 PM
so they didn't take a single S in the draft.... i'm quite confused, but I guess that's why they run the team.
4/29/2007 5:00:12 PM
i think they kept missing out on some, then they just couldn't get good value at the picks they were at. Maybe they're banking on getting one out of a Jenkins trade(if he gets traded) or maybe they're thinking of moving Davis back to S
4/29/2007 5:04:54 PM
i was kind of hoping that they'd pick up leak with that last pick
so did leak not get drafted at all?
4/29/2007 5:19:05 PM
he hasnt yet with 16 picks left
4/29/2007 5:25:14 PM

They got a safety with the last pickhttp://www.panthers.com/Team/PlayerBio.aspx?id=18598[Edited on April 29, 2007 at 5:33 PM. Reason : link]
4/29/2007 5:32:50 PM
he's going to have to make the switch to safety, he was a corner in college
4/29/2007 5:34:43 PM
since leak signed with the bears, maybe we can sign Zabransky or Moore for the 3rd string role
4/30/2007 10:50:00 AM
i was very pleased with the panther's draft. i give em a B+/A-. i think the first 4 players they drafted could start this year in Beason, Jarrett, Khalil (definitely), and Charles Johnson. The Day 2 Picks, who knows. You just gotta trust Fox and Hurney on those onesI really wish we could trade jenkins for a bad ass safety and/or tight end. then we'd be set

^good readi wonder what the chances are of Rosario being able to be a short yardage back?
5/3/2007 9:48:13 PM
I wonder why no one drafted leak.
5/4/2007 6:38:44 AM
^it's because he's not that good.

did we cut morgan yet?is there still the chance this guy never gets injured again?i almost want to pray for this guy to stay healthy and shit
5/4/2007 9:33:16 AM
^^I wouldn't call the 2 centers we had great. Kalil has a chance to be even better than those 2.
5/4/2007 9:42:14 AM
For the money they paid hartwig, he better be close to great....and for his first prolonged NFL starting stint, hangartner(sp) did very, very well. I did hear that Kalil might move to G tho, it always helps to have linemen that can move around like that.
5/4/2007 9:58:14 AM
some QB's can't even tell the difference between centers and guards anyway
5/4/2007 10:09:38 AM
Hartwig played some Guard for the Titans didnt he?
5/4/2007 10:29:59 AM
A center should capable of sliding out to guard. More than likely wouldn't be cut out to switch to a tackle position unless they are very athletic, but guard isn't much of a change from center when it comes to assignments and techniques.
5/4/2007 10:37:59 AM
^^maybe but he was primarily a C^true.and I think they're talking about switching Gross again.....all that switching sides has to hurt him a little.[Edited on May 4, 2007 at 11:04 AM. Reason : .]

^I agree, but unless we make a trade, we don't have anything more than average players to choose from.
5/4/2007 2:59:18 PM
Like I didn't understand last year with us thinking Bill would come here...I don't see how any panther fan (myself included) would even possibly THINK that he would come. My reasoning is different...how is a coach on a hot seat when he took you to 2 nfc championship games already and 1 super bowl???? It's not like our bad years were even that bad. 7-9 was not bad in my opinion for the circumstances.
5/5/2007 2:15:12 AM
Ditto^. But the talking heads on radio and TV all have stated that Fox and/or Hurney are both on the HOT SEAT after that team we had last year didnt even make the playoffs. We really had a much better team than how we played, but I think its still too early to give up on foxy/hurney. However, the media rules in these situations, so if we miss the playoffs again then the spin they put on it will likely send at least one of them packing...[Edited on May 5, 2007 at 8:53 AM. You would have to be a damn fool to get rid of Fox
5/5/2007 10:09:41 AM
i bet he aint here in like 3 years

Well, there was a lot of speculation that the reason Fox was so quick to want to get rid of Henning was to put more of the blame on last year's lack of success on him.The past 2 years we have been consensus favorites to win the SB, but the past 2 years we really haven't been the team we are on paper. Two years ago we were a one man show on offense and had a decent defense, then last year we kept pissing away the games in the last quarter.Fox knows he has a lot of people looking at him this year. I really like the guy, and I hope we have an awesome year but I think there is room to start speculating that his seat is getting a little warm. Our defense isn't getting any younger, our OL can't stay healthy, our running game is non-existent and now our passing game is looking like a one-man show again.Hopefully we'll right the ship this year and everyone can stay healthy.
5/6/2007 1:03:53 PM
here you go tran:
5/6/2007 2:18:40 PM
^^ yeah thats the spin the media is putting on it. Apparently they speak on behalf of the people so thats why Fox is on the hotseat. Richardson will have the final say in it though....
