I thought the death penalty was a state issue not a federal issue. I recall the SC meddling when it comes to the mentally challenged, but generally isn't this left to the states ? So I would hope he is not proposing the federal government just come in and tell the states what to do when it comes to the death penalty. On the other hand if he's not proposing that then what does it have to do with his platform ? In any event I hope Kucinich gets the nomination, he's so radical just about any of the repubs could win in the general election, so please vote for him in the primary.

The death penalty is arguably at odds with the 8th and 14th amendments, at least in its current form. This makes it, at least to some people, a federal issue.[Edited on April 27, 2007 at 10:32 PM. Reason : ]
