^^It makes me cry. Its a (relatively small) RWD coupe with a TT straight six. Pure heaven! But I'll never buy one, that thing is fucking ugly. DAMN YOU Chris Bangle
6/29/2007 1:32:42 PM
it looks better than i thought it would
6/29/2007 6:41:00 PM
There will also be:123d: 2 litre TD 4 cyl, 204 hp, 295 lb-ft But of course, not for the US.
6/30/2007 8:16:54 AM
it is so fucking ugly, i can't stomach looking at it. it's a shame since it will be way much lighter than current 335i, so more powerful and nimble. -headlights are too big and look like baby toy car or something-body is nicely streamlined, but bumpers are flat like on E36... DOES NOT FLOW!
6/30/2007 12:10:20 PM
3 door hatch needs to get here, too.
6/30/2007 12:23:59 PM
6/30/2007 12:38:45 PM
i don't like the indention along the side, but other than i think it looks pretty good. should walk all over the current 3 in every aspect also.
6/30/2007 12:42:12 PM
I'm not sure which bimmer you all are looking at, but I see a gorgeous rwd coupe that I'll attempt to acquire at some point!there's better pics over at km77.com:http://www.km77.com/00/bmw/1/coupe/g01.asp
7/1/2007 10:09:41 AM
estimated pricing?
7/1/2007 11:36:56 AM
28k-ish
7/1/2007 11:50:55 AM
for the 135?
7/1/2007 1:42:32 PM
135i better not be more than 33k
7/1/2007 1:49:02 PM
Seriously. The 335i is about 40k - I hope the 135 costs less.
7/1/2007 2:56:52 PM
do the make a hybrid versions?
7/2/2007 9:26:51 PM
Lots of high res pics here for those who like it:http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-1-series-leaked-pics/and also on http://www.bmwusa.comBMW says 0-60 mph in 5.3 sec for the 135i. The 335i does it in 4.8 sec (BMW says 5.4 sec), so could one expect the 135i to clock in about 4.6-4.7 sec as it is lighter than the 335i?
7/3/2007 9:58:20 AM
i don't really like the indention in the side, but other than that i think it looks pretty good. still not as good as the e36/e46 cars imo.
7/3/2007 10:07:39 AM
all the bangle cars look much better in person than in pics, imo. They also tend to look a little wild when they first come out, but get better and better w/ time. The 135i is saweeet. someday...BUT, I assume that none of these will have a limited slip, eh? *fart*
7/3/2007 10:13:27 AM
if i had my druthers the 1 series would have LSD and dual exhuast...other then that it's perfect.
7/3/2007 12:30:29 PM
there will probably be some sport package with an LSD
7/3/2007 12:36:33 PM
i doubt it. after '96 BMW said only Ms will get LDS... and so far they havent waivered. even the 335i is a pegleg
7/3/2007 2:41:40 PM
well shithow much would it cost to get into the 135iwould it have to be an M3 part? do they have the same diff? is that a waranty voider?how lame
7/3/2007 3:29:51 PM
ahahahahahahahahahaOEPII1 pisses the bed
7/5/2007 9:41:57 PM

7/17/2007 10:57:45 PM
7/18/2007 8:07:31 PM
30000?
7/19/2007 1:57:57 AM
$30,000 + software upgrade + LSD = really fun car to drive
7/19/2007 10:17:30 AM
wonder what sort of actual dealer pricing they will command. getting into one for mid-high 20's off of an msrp of ~30k sounds like a bargain.

10/15/2007 9:09:28 PM
concept? you mean what's already out there....
10/15/2007 10:29:31 PM
I'm seeing a lot of reports that the new 1-series coupe only weighs about 200lbs less than the 3-series coupe. Which has me wondering, WTF is the point?
10/15/2007 10:42:11 PM
^^ yeah i know that thet hatch style is the original 1-series, but maybe they will debut a restyled one? or maybe a station wagon?i mean, what IS known is that something new based on the 1-series will be shown. as for the word concept, doesn't mean much when it comes to bmw usually. they m5 is identical to the m5 concept shown a few years back. the m3 (new) is identical to the m3 concept shown last year.
10/16/2007 12:26:11 AM
there's already a 5 door wagon in the UK. It's not bad, but I'd rather have the 3 door version.I just don't see them doing more than a body kit (or maybe a csl version?) of the 1 series until the 2010 model year.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 12:36 AM. Reason : ]
10/16/2007 12:35:09 AM
this idea of having a 1-series is a great idea, now that the 3-series is enormous...but the 1-series is still too big. Isn't it based on the E46 chassis? In any case, they should've made it a more substantial step down in size and weight from the 3-series.
10/16/2007 12:38:46 AM
yeah i don't know what it could be. any "m1" or hipo version is years away.as for wagon, i meant a proper station wagon, not a 5 door hatchback. it is currently sold as a 3 door and 5 door hatchback. but maybe they will come out with a station wagon. then again, a station wagon wouldn't be such a hit with enthusiasts, and since this news is receiving good coverage, and bmw is keeping up the suspense, it is probably not a station wagon.
10/16/2007 12:41:10 AM
i like that hatchback why dont they bring that to the US(and put an s54 in it)one can dream
10/16/2007 8:06:21 AM
Cool car I guess, it has some stiff comp though in the 28-30K range.
10/16/2007 4:35:56 PM
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1935i would buy this
10/25/2007 3:46:28 PM
waitthey're going to sell a 300 horsepower car with an open diff? am I reading this right?
10/25/2007 7:23:44 PM
they already do, it's called the 335i
10/25/2007 8:20:53 PM
yeah it definitely needs an LSD
10/26/2007 11:56:56 AM
I'm sick of all these bullshit cars with their open diffs, that the manufacturers say act like a LSD thanks to electronics. Fuck that, keep it old school. Not to mention a lot of those systems use the brakes, resulting in more brake wear.
10/26/2007 1:12:20 PM
My gripe with the styling, which is fully evident in the 2 pics above.Look at that line that's majorly curving downward at the bottom edge of the door. Since it is curving downward significantly, it makes the car look fatter than it is. Just a simple optical illusion. That line should have been straight, not curving at all.Somebody please use photoshop and make that line straight in the 2 pics above. It will markedly improve the overall character of the car, making it look lean and sportier.BTW, what that is is the BMW 1-Series Coupe tii, unvelied at Tokyo a few days ago.http://www.worldcarfans.com/9071024.001/bmw-1-series-coupe-tii-concept-at-tokyoPerhaps it will be made in a couple of years as the M1?
10/26/2007 3:06:33 PM
I love how people expect this thing to cost 30 grandYeah without an interior and doors.Lets take guessesI say if you can walk OTD at 40k you did well. When does it show up here?

That's really hot. I don't see BMW selling such a "bare bones" vehicle in the U.S. however. I mean, "leather" has been "standard" in the U.S. since the mid 90s, even on the "base" 3 series, so..."Ahmet" :p
10/27/2007 4:18:02 PM
spacious back seatwhy even put it in ?
