i emailed a professor at State to get an email sent out to the CHE department when we had open positions in my department.I got a bunch of resumes from seniors, then just for the hell of it, searched facebook with the email addresses on the resumes. Some of the shit i saw was ridiculously inappropriate for a potential employer to see.

while interviewing someone last week after giving my intro about the company: "and yes, you have already been facebooked"

what do employers think when you don't have a myspace or facebook account? is it viewed as a plus or negative? I know it's situation dependent, but generally.
4/9/2007 10:26:39 PM
privacy duh!! then they cant look at it, and dont add someone unless you know who they are!
4/10/2007 9:49:34 PM

4/10/2007 9:57:41 PM
NCSULilWolf has an awesome blog for serious topics (not the myspace one tho )]
4/10/2007 10:14:19 PM
I read a story about a WSJ writer trying to increase his prospects in the job market by sabotaging other job seekers.
4/11/2007 2:00:09 AM
what kind of jobs would one get where your blogs would help get you unsolicited job offers? i mean, aside from geniuses such as Kos, or some guy who writes some killer freeware app that winds up being distributed to millions of personal and commercial users
