"like the media isnt liberally biased"

prove that it is

Just because the media isn't a mouthpiece to spread the administrations peachy view of current events doesn't mean that theres something wrong with the media. Its a political tactic to deride the media as being liberal. Its like saying Democrats want to support the terrorists if the war spending bill doesn't go through. Its a myth.

I guess I really mean to say that all reporters are biased. I don't think they get into the business just to remain neutral and objective. Journalism attracts people who want to make a change in the world..usually for the better.

The problem is that they won't face this fact. They steadfastly hold to the mistaken idea that they are not interjecting their own opinion into the story. Just the topic they choose to cover
(or ignore) often shows their bias.

It's easy for me to spot the liberal bias because I'm a conservative and am more sensitive to its appearance in news stories I read or watch.

Here's an example of a short story pulled from todays NPR NEws site...

Quote :
"Nation
Bush Tours Walter Reed Hospital, and Apologizes
by Don Gonyea

All Things Considered, March 30, 2007 · President Bush went to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., Friday, his first trip there since revelations six weeks ago about deplorable living conditions for wounded soldiers in the facility's outpatient housing.

Substandard conditions and policies at the hospital brought resignations after they were exposed in news reports. The president used the occasion to apologize to veterans for what they endured during their recovery, and to vow that the problems will be fixed.

"We're not going to be satisfied until everybody gets the kind of care that their folks and families expect," the president said.

Still, President Bush came under criticism today.

Some wondered why he waited so long after the news broke to visit Walter Reed personally. And they asked why he didn't take a first-hand look at repairs being done at one of Building 18, which soldiers he met told him was particularly troubled.

Democrats said the problems at the Army medical center are part of a larger picture — that of an administration that has cut funding for veterans programs and which didn't adequately plan for the war and its long-term effects.

"

A liberal will read the bold section and see it as hard-hitting analysis. I see "some wondered" and read it as "this liberal reporter wonders.." Those last two paragraphs, to me, are just plain opinion...not objective..not neutral...not fair.

And no where to be seen on NPR news is one word about corrupt Diane Feinstein and this scandal.

That is bias.

^ They're too busy with human interest stories about things that don't matter and fantastic BBC coverage of the whole Iranian kidnapping thing... Besides... Democrat-Corruption... new?

(Yeah, the same goes for Reps)
