machines convert the chemical energy of the fuel to something useful - no machines=no use for fuel

its not so stupid if you actually knew anything about chemical and mechanical engineering...since chemical engineering spawned out of mechanical engineering when people figured out it was useful to understand more than just how things rotate and vibrate. Chemical engineering isn't about chemicals, its about giving purpose and application to mechanical engineering concepts.

someone mentioned earlier that AEs are specialized MEs--its actually the ChemEs that are specialized MEs

AEs and MEs are more like fraternal twins
