god i hope Schaub goes at least .500 this season after all the proclaiming him as the messiah you guys have done the past 2 seasons.I mean he has yet to win a single game in the NFL but he's getting ready to take the league by storm apparentally.

"Man, that Vince Young was a bust" Great commercial
3/21/2007 4:05:41 PM
You say the Texans made a bad move b/c the admitted their mistake? I would rather my team say theyfucked up and get better immediately, than screw around for 2 years then be like oh we fucked up. Granted you take heat for bad first decisions.
3/21/2007 4:06:37 PM
This isn't their first bad decision. They have done nothing but fuck up and piss off their fans since they came into the league. They had a chance to totally redeem themselves by drafting Young, but once again, they fucked it up. Honestly, I can't believe people even go to their games anymore.[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 4:08 PM. Reason : .]

even vick's accurate passes are often dropped because he throws them like 190 mphthats vick's own fault for not being able to control his throws
3/21/2007 4:18:19 PM
I agree that Vick hurts himself when he throws a 190mph pass on a 5 yard slant. I'd take Schaub over Vick in a heartbeat.
3/21/2007 4:21:09 PM
Good for you.
3/21/2007 4:22:34 PM
you guys ever played a baseball video game where lets say hypothetically you have a grounder to the short stop as he is running towards second and he literally makes a full power overhand throw 10 feet since its a video game even though in real life you might just toss it underhand? thats kinda how vick throws, like the video game short stop...except his receivers arent video game 2nd basemen]
3/21/2007 4:24:21 PM
At 6 Sportscenter will be talking about the ripple affect they Schaub trade is going to have. Should be a fun listen.
3/21/2007 4:26:18 PM
Look no one is saying Vick's strength is accuracy. But the fact of the matter is his receivers DROP A SHITLOAD OF PASSES No one was blaming Philip Rivers in that embarrassing home loss to the Patriots because he WAS NOT THE ONE DROPPING PASSES [Edited on March 21, 2007 at 4:27 PM. Reason : a]
3/21/2007 4:26:58 PM
^^i'll watch just because i'm seriously fiending for some footballhowever everybody also assumes matt schaub to be the good QB we saw in limited backup action in ATL...although the only game I really remember was a close one against New England...that Schaub and the Falcons LOST...but hey, plenty of Panthers douchebags thought Weinke was the answer based on one drive in a game versus the LIONS...then they saw him as a starter and remembered why he wasnt the starter when Jake was healthy^well who cares if you can throw it 80 yards if its not to a receiveralso his arm strength can be his own weakness[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 4:29 PM. i'm keen on schaub, because of what he did at virginia.
3/21/2007 4:32:15 PM
I think he'll be fineCourse I don't need to point out the obvious differences in NCAA v NFL and mention people like Jason WhiteBut the backup always seems better if your team is losing, regardless of what the backup actually does
3/21/2007 4:38:58 PM
jason white sucked while in college.
3/21/2007 4:43:15 PM
seriously, his record speaks for itselfbut he is great now that he is in the nfl...i think he made the pro bowl this past season
3/21/2007 4:44:22 PM
Yeah, most players who win the Heisman "suck"
3/21/2007 4:45:05 PM
we had the sarcasm on the down low...it was good enough to fool you [Edited on March 21, 2007 at 4:46 PM. Reason : .]
3/21/2007 4:46:28 PM
Jason White didnt suck for 95% of his college career but the last two games of his career he was ABYSMAL.He couldn't complete a pass in the conference & national championships.
3/21/2007 4:46:51 PM
k-state whooped that ass in the conf title game and they went big big big bowling anyway...got their shit pushed in by USC though
3/21/2007 4:48:48 PM
Dear Packers,Get Carr.Trade ARod for Moss.Profit.
3/21/2007 5:07:33 PM
What's so terrible about this move? You guys will cry over anything. Fact. Noone, team, organization is perfect and we all are prone to mistakes. You are losing sight that this is still a fairly young org and is building.Look how long it took the Panthers to get their act together! And they still have a plethora of issues. It's sports.
3/21/2007 5:15:30 PM
great to see matt schaub getting his chance to lead a team. Too bad its the Texans and their terrible offensive line. I just he doesnt get hurt with the lack of protection. I honestly cant see him doing that well until they get some playmakers on offense to work with him. It was great watching him play for virginia along with heath miller and billy mcmullen. Ahhh the memories.

truei've got a copy of the 2003 game saved somewhere--probably my favorite football game i went to as a studentand i took one of those wide-angle C-F posters of that game and mounted every student ticket i ever used around it and its hanging up on my wall--its great
3/21/2007 6:22:39 PM
no, seriously. jason white sucked in college. okay, maybe i shouldn't say, "sucked". he was "overrated". look at the talent around white. all he had to do was let his receivers rack up a ton of yacs for him. he had a big arm too, but he was like a 60% passer (average). the media fell in love with his comeback kid story (both knees reconstructed), and were fooled by oklahoma's overall awesomeness. imagine what phily cheese could've done with the talent he had. he wouldn't have folded in the championship game, i bet. hason white didn't deserve the heisman. larry fitzgerald should've got it in '03. but it's not like the heisman actually goes to the best player anymore. nope, it goes to the most popular or hyped player on the best team.the guy was good, but he wasn't all that, not like how the media built him up to be. he wasn't drafted, and he wasn't even invited to camps for the longest time. i doubt anyone even cares to know what he's doing nowadays.

The Falcons got so much for Schaub its not even funny. Even if they kept him this year, they weren't going to sign him next year, not with Vicks contract. Moving from 10th to 8th AND getting the 39th overall pick from the Texans is fucking amazing for a guy who has only started 2 games, and only thrown 166 passes in his 3 year career.
3/21/2007 8:18:54 PM
didn't read the rest of the thread, but i'm glad that schaub is finally going to see the light of day nowlet's see what he can do

They were in the NFC championship their 2nd season dumbass. The Texans have yet to even go .500 in like 5 seasons.Big difference.
3/22/2007 1:00:07 AM
If you weren't so anxious to insult me here, you would understand my point. Yes they made it far in two seasons. Some say luck, but whatever. After that second season it took nearly a light year for them to make it far again. Some people argued luck again saying they had no business there, etc and they only upset real contenders. Since then, we havent proved to be real contenders. Only pretenders. Who are we fooling. last year was a joke. Bottom line.

On the point of comparing Shaub to Jason White or Chris Wienke, those guys play for LOADED college teams that made them look good. Shaub played for an average UVA squad (similar to Rivers) and was an all star. He has the arm and the brains, he just hasn't been on the NFL field that much. After his first interception, you guys will be calling for his head.
