Looks like Thursday is gonna be the last day we'll have this
3/18/2007 7:21:28 PM
dammit
3/18/2007 7:38:01 PM
you people and your deadlinesI guess I could see it Wednesday, though.
3/18/2007 7:38:39 PM
I hate to get rid of it, but it takes the space of two normal movies, and nobody came to see it (relatively speaking)
3/18/2007 7:53:20 PM
have you seen it? - is it worth trying to get to by thursday?
3/18/2007 9:20:42 PM
I won't be able to see it until Tuesday or Wednesday, unfortunately. Everybody I've talked to that's seen it was amazed except for one old guy who walked out and said David Lynch was a nutjob.
3/18/2007 9:23:21 PM
for a movie with no discernable plot, it's a tad on the long side. after everything stopped making sense, probably about halfway through the movie i kind of stopped caring about what was going on.
3/18/2007 9:43:52 PM
funny, i watched twin peaks (film) tonighti will need to view this
3/18/2007 9:46:28 PM
I'm going to see this.
3/19/2007 3:49:44 AM
was heather graham hot in 1992? jesus, she must have been young
3/19/2007 4:15:32 AM
she was 22.
3/19/2007 9:41:35 AM
Don't go to this movie if you want a plot or character development or anything you typically find in a movie. Otherwise, enjoy.
3/19/2007 9:48:18 AM
If you have seen Lynch films and are expecting a plot, you must have comprehended his work more than me!
3/19/2007 10:06:07 AM
I think mulholland drive had a plot, honestly. hard to find? yes, but it was thereI haven't seen the rest of his films though
3/19/2007 10:26:29 AM
are you trying to be funny? because nearly all of david lynch's features have had plots.Mulholland Dr had a plot.Blue Velvet had a plot. The Straight Story had a plot.Twin Peaks had a plot.Dune had a plot. The Elephant Man had a plot.i haven't seen Lost Highway, but i'm willing to bet there's a plot in there.
3/19/2007 10:39:08 AM
The plots typically all blow to hell after about an hourExhibit A: Mullholland DriveI dont see this as a bad thing, but I'm not sure plot development is the main focus of Lynch films[Edited on March 19, 2007 at 11:12 AM. Reason : d]
3/19/2007 11:11:40 AM
that's really not true at all. Mulholland Dr is probably the only exception to the rule. did you see the list i just posted?
3/19/2007 11:45:36 AM
3/19/2007 11:47:55 AM
3/19/2007 12:08:59 PM
are you guys telling me you don't get the plot of eraserhead?
3/19/2007 12:55:21 PM
i think ill go tonight. from the arguments ive read so far im not convinced that most people know what to expect - his PLOTS (yes they exist) are different than most movies but they are valid if you take more time to think about it (or even try to find an ANALYSIS of it online - not a subjective review)and mulholland drive gets weird toward the end cause he is explaining what ACTUALLY happened - its just more complicated[Edited on March 19, 2007 at 3:10 PM. Reason : .]
3/19/2007 3:07:54 PM
well, like jere said, david lynch pretty much admitted there isn't any plot to this movie.
3/19/2007 4:08:05 PM
Lost Highway is really good.
3/19/2007 4:15:24 PM
well DAMNIT. i'm not getting netflix until i move into my new apartment in the fall, so i guess it'll wait until then
3/19/2007 4:28:35 PM
I have only seen twin peaks, lost highway, and mulholland driveso thats my population
3/19/2007 4:57:50 PM
Wild at Heart is one of the crowning achievements of Western civilization. I highly recommend it.
3/19/2007 5:04:42 PM
duly noted.
3/19/2007 5:36:37 PM
^^i couldn't think of the title of that movie for the life of me a few days ago.
3/19/2007 5:42:33 PM
Wild At Heart is my favorite movie of all time...and im pissed this only going through Thursday, because there is no way i can make it before this weekend.Hopefully Durham will still have it.
3/19/2007 7:05:39 PM
3/19/2007 7:19:21 PM
My buddy and I sat dead-center, front row. The abrupt changes to strobing images and cacophonous music were that much more shocking. It also made the close-ups more pronounced (if that's even possible). I definitely enjoyed it, and it held my interest the whole way through. Although there were numerous times that I expected it to end and it kept going.
3/19/2007 7:25:44 PM
Im planning on leaving work early Thursday so I can catch this. If you arent a tool, youre welcome to join me.
3/20/2007 4:58:04 PM
just saw it - typical, david lynch mind-fuck, i loved it but don't dare ask me to try & explain it
3/20/2007 6:47:11 PM
just got out of it as well. I wont have a chance to see it before it leaves but ill check it out again on DVD. This movie blurred the lines between movie and reality so much that you weren't sure if you were watching reality, inland empire, on high in blue tomorrows, or the original polish film.if you arent sure you wanna see this yet, just know that there is even a lumberjack in this movie.
3/20/2007 6:54:18 PM
Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and Straight Story were his best imo. I liked mulholland drive too....and Eraserhead was one of the first movies I watched when I was a kid, to compound the effect it was while I was on like my first joint ever smoked at 3 in the morning by myself. lets just say I'll never forget that shit. Not sure how much I'll like this one...if it's a complete non sequitur i don't know if I'll take to it like I used to. Does it have some actual glue to it? I like Laura Dern alot so that's also prompting me to go.At the same time, I think stuff like Fire walk with me and Lost highway were some of the most self centered movies ever...hated em. But just like art, there's no real objective way to judge their qualities. It's just 'did it do something for me' type of subjective criticism. And those two pics didn't 'do it' for me whatsoever.
3/20/2007 7:31:00 PM
spookyjon and I are hitting this up at 7:25 if you guys want to come freak out with us
3/21/2007 2:20:27 PM
ah, i have a better understanding of this movie now that I've thought about it but there is so much to this movie that I need to see it again cause I've forgotten like half of the clues, red herrings, details, etc.tonight would be a perfect opportunity to freak again but Clemson vs. Syracuse is tonight[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 2:38 PM. Reason : grrr]
3/21/2007 2:37:06 PM

3/21/2007 9:56:12 PM
Basically I'm a shit who took a nap instead of seeing this tonight
3/21/2007 9:59:49 PM
going into work early tomorrow so i can catch it. my cocks hard just thinking about it
3/21/2007 10:01:04 PM
well THAT was a mindfuck. i wish i could see it again before it leaves.
3/21/2007 10:04:26 PM
3/21/2007 10:06:53 PM
I caught the first 20 minutes again before I had to leave to watch the clemson game. ahah, that lit up face scene scared me the first time too. I do like the rabbits with the canned laughter. Apparently Naomi Watts was one of them.Tomorrow is the last day for the movie 4pm and 7:25pm. [Edited on March 21, 2007 at 10:31 PM. Reason : LATER]
3/21/2007 10:31:12 PM
3/21/2007 11:06:16 PM
ya this movie reminded me of mulholland a lot - not to mention several repeat actors... laura dern's irl mom was in it too, cheryl ladd.ryan - i'd love to have waited & gone w/ u but i wasn't sure if you could go... i can't afford to see it again i believe you will enjoy it a lot though!
3/22/2007 6:40:31 AM
so is anyone else going tonight?
