5/8/2007 5:33:28 PM
yeah, nevermind, its tonite. I aint going.
5/8/2007 7:53:03 PM
it was pretty sweet and they definitely set it up for another one
5/8/2007 9:56:36 PM
just got back from the sneak. it wasn't as good as the first one. this movie is very very gory. no character development. the only likable character gets killed off early. there are some familiar themes from the first film such as the innocent not being able to trust their military protectors. also they reused some of the music from the first film and while it worked great in the first film it loses its charm this time around. there is pretty much no climax, quite possibly the most anti-climatic ending ive ever seen. the first 20 minutes or so are the most entertaining part of the entire film.[begin spoilers]-there is an extremely gory scene where an army of zombies is completely mutilated by a helicopter rotor.-i cringed near the end when the main characters literally come to a light at the end of a tunnel. yay for symbolism! [end spoilers]this movie was pathetic.
5/8/2007 11:07:57 PM
all i saw was "the movie was pathetic"i believe you, thanks for saving me some time
5/8/2007 11:09:25 PM
I thought it was pretty sweet.Started out awesome and ended up being pretty decent. But yeah.. the first 15 minutes were insane.
5/11/2007 2:35:07 AM
ttt
5/11/2007 8:19:11 AM
did they opt for big budget cameras this time around?
5/11/2007 8:45:23 AM
i'm going tonight. even if it's not amazing, i want to see it.
5/11/2007 1:44:37 PM
^^ I don't think they used 35 mm or whatever like they did last time.I kinda wish they would have though.
5/11/2007 2:20:17 PM
most of the first one was filmed on an XL1, which added to the look, and helped them greatly in meeting time constraints for filming
5/11/2007 4:22:48 PM
the helicopter scene made the movie imho.I leaned over to the person next to me (that i saw it with) and said "wtf, they could definitely use the helicopter to chop up those zombies" then 15-20 seconds later they did and I gave props to the directors
5/11/2007 8:31:03 PM
i got sick and blacked out when the kid hid in the warehouse with the guy. i don't know what the fuck caused it. i'm starting to suspect it's SOUND that really gets me (that loud, repeating helicopter thump and general gurgling)... the blood wasn't faint-worthy (but it was good), so WTF MATE?! needless to say, i'll have to try to see it again later. i couldn't go back in the movie after blacking out while walking to the bathroom, and plowing into a fucking wall.
5/11/2007 11:06:32 PM
It was a different movie than 28 Days Later. I was a little upset about this at first, as Days was about character development and morality and such, while Weeks was mostly just a zombie/gore flick. But I really did enjoy it after getting past that fact.
5/12/2007 6:45:19 PM
I guess there is really no other way to end it and leave it open for a 3rd movie. For me, the first movie is better largely because it has somewhat a happy ending. All for nothing it seems.BUT ITS OK, THE US IS SURROUNDED BY WATER!
5/12/2007 9:35:35 PM
this was fucking horrible. Liked the first movie a bit but this was really really really dumbed down.I knew it would be bad from the beginning when they said that it doesnt spread across species yet thats exactly how it started in the first movie. And the dad being a somewhat "rational zombie" was stupid. And why would he poke the moms eyes out? did not fit ANYTHING that other infected did in either movie. Same thing with killing the chick at the end, he used something to pummel her with, pretty sure it was the gun, but no other infected ever used a "tool" to kill.
5/13/2007 12:41:09 PM
^ Well, it's pure rage, so they're going to be going crrrrraaaazy. And I think the eye-poking was just an homage to the In the House/In a Heartbeat scene in 28 Days Later when Jim does it to the last dude.
5/13/2007 2:54:27 PM
I got pretty much what I wanted out of the movie, could have used a bit more character development, but overall I was satisfied.
5/13/2007 5:05:16 PM
^^ Yeah that was a mistake, but in their defense the population of apes in Britain would be just about zero. I'm sure what she meant was that it had not infected dogs, cats, and birds...since these would be the most common animals to come into contact with humans. Not a big enough plot hole to ruin the movie.
5/13/2007 7:00:09 PM
ALSO: We got the HIVvy from monkeys but can't give it to dogs. I'd know.
5/13/2007 7:17:46 PM
This movie was freaking awesome. I really liked the first, and I really liked this one too. It now rivals Dawn of the Dead as my favorite zombie/horror movie.
5/14/2007 1:52:40 AM
original or remake?
5/14/2007 11:04:51 AM
i thought the movie was amazingit was very gory, very violent, and very goodi thought the ending was abrupt and unresolving, however pretty clever, i'm pretty sure no one thought of that
5/14/2007 12:45:08 PM
^^ remake, but then again I haven't seen the original yet. guess i shouldAnd yeah, I really liked the ending to this.
5/14/2007 1:33:06 PM
god damn you all like some shitty movies.this garbage was horrible, not even average much less very good or great.
5/14/2007 7:17:01 PM

5/14/2007 7:37:55 PM
5/14/2007 8:35:58 PM
talk about terrible
5/15/2007 3:24:45 PM
Can a movie be good with all the characters that the movie makes you care about die?I mean....take, Jurassic park and kill of everyone but that damn geneticist.
5/15/2007 5:19:16 PM
5/15/2007 7:05:07 PM
minor spoileri really enjoyed the movie, but it annoyed me how easily the kids got out of the "high security" district 1 and went to their house (thus fucking over all of the rebuilding efforts). granted the one guy did see the kids leave, but why the hell did they let them get so far instead of just stopping them? the military seemed pretty hardcore, with their "kill everyone" rule....you would think they would have been a little more on edge about people leaving. kind of wish the movie ended with the helicopter shot, and not the paris shot.
5/15/2007 7:18:23 PM
Umm, I believe the jist of the plot was set up in the first movie, and this movie assumes you have seen the first. It then builds on that.I don't see why everyone hates it. Is it just because of that cross-species comment? Did you guys hate Dawn of the Dead as well?
5/15/2007 7:40:02 PM
Anyone want to hear the thing about those monkeys being 98% genetically identical to human beings?
5/15/2007 7:44:56 PM
^ Oh, I would!
5/15/2007 7:52:41 PM
^^ and??? that doesnt make them the same species...^^^ and yes I saw the first one, it was good... actually thought out, and was more of a drama that just happen to have horror/scifi elements, this was just a piece of shit mindless zombie movie
5/15/2007 9:23:43 PM
I liked the first one better, but I this still had everything I want in a zombie movie. B+
5/15/2007 10:55:37 PM
thats the thing... I never viewed them as just simple zombie movies... that would be like calling Blade Runner a "robot movie"
5/15/2007 10:59:50 PM
I can't wait until they make "cell" from King into a movie. Talk about a great zombie story. Eventhough the ending was odd.
5/15/2007 11:45:49 PM
I thought it was excellentI LOVE horror movies and thought this one followed the previous one nicely. I also like the similar shots from the first movie (walking around London, running down the stairs in the subway).
5/16/2007 11:31:02 PM
Presumably, none of the characters in either movie had any idea where the disease came from, seeing as none of the scientists from the original experiments made it out alive. As such, it is quite likely that none of the scientists had any idea that chimps could be carriers, unless while experimenting to find a cure they infected some chimps.

The opening scene in this film was incredibly well done. It scared the shit out of me.The rest of the movie was okay.[Edited on May 17, 2007 at 8:10 PM. Reason : ]
5/17/2007 8:10:22 PM
^I agree, the first few minutes was scary as hell, and the rest made me jump, but eh.
5/17/2007 10:05:20 PM
I thought the first one was really good. I'm really not a big zombie movie type guy either. The first one just had great camera work, and I thought the use of color and music really made the film. The second one was mediocre at best, I agree with whoever said there was NO character development. There really wasn't much of anything besides running from zombies and killing stuff. The guy getting shot in the mellon as he's up against the glass was pretty cool though
5/18/2007 11:28:06 PM
This movie kicked ass!! I felt there was no need for that much character development in this one. The first one didn't really have any, so why should this one? The whole movie had me on the edge of my seat. Its just something about those aggressive zombies that work for me.The early scene where the father was being chased through the country side was surreal. I could only imagine experiencing a horror like that. Overral, I guess the movie worked for me because I could see something like that happening (catastrophic outbreak--not zombies/demons necessarily but something close).[Edited on May 19, 2007 at 12:36 AM.
