^ true, but not like they occur like that in nature.

leave it to humans to have played with nature to create "artificial" animals.

Baby owls cuddle up to toy mother

OMG THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!!

I am sure there are bigger pics elsewhere on the net, and maybe someone can look for them!

Quote :
"A group of orphaned baby owls are being taken under the wing of a new mother - which happens to be a cuddly toy.

The toy is being used at the New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park to give four tawny owls a surrogate family.

The quartet all cuddle under the wings of the stuffed toy, which has been mother to another two orphans who have since been moved on to an outside pen.

John Crooks, manager of the park at Longdown, said he did not think it was unusual to use a toy as a surrogate.

"It's a standard thing really. The baby owls are like most young animals and like to cuddle against something soft and warm.

"Just by chance we have got a nice gift shop here with some nice owls in it," he said.

The owls were all brought to the park after being abandoned. "

"A polar bear cub who became the star attraction at a Berlin zoo is to stop appearing in shows with his keeper because he has grown too big.

The zoo said Knut the polar bear would no longer frolic with keeper Thomas Doerflein in twice-daily shows that have drawn more than a million people.

The seven-month-old bear, now weighing 50kg (110 lbs), will reportedly have his enclosure entirely to himself. "

"A lioness has been reunited with her brother in the Gaza Zoo after being released by Hamas from a clan who had abducted her nearly two years ago.

Sabrina was kidnapped aged just three months, shortly after being brought to the Gaza Strip from Egypt.

Hamas militiamen say they freed her after a shootout with the clan members.

Zoo officials said Sabrina's brother Sakher, who had roared inconsolably when his sister was stolen, instantly recognised her and the pair started to play. "

DAMN... that's so tear-inducing, and also awe-inspiring.

He was able to recognize his sister after two years AND also more importantly, she was only 3 months old when kidnapped, so she is an adult now, but he still knew it was her!

OMG I WANNA HOLD HIM

A keeper holds Elmo, a four-day-old male baby orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) from Borneo, in an animal hospital at Taman Safari in Bogor, West Java July 26, 2007. Wild populations of orangutans are found only in the tropical forests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, and all populations are under severe threat from habitat loss, illegal logging, fires and poaching.
