Where is this observation deck you speak of?

the overpass is off of old reedy creek. you go over a one lane bridge, go up a hill, go by a lake, and you're at 40. the road dead ends right after the overpass. news crews go there when they want a traffic backdrop for a story.

That's semi-true, but it's still good to "keep the spice in the relationship" and not get lazy. It's worth it to plan nice surprises once in awhile.

My suggestion is to make a biome, it's fun if you have a sunny window. Get a glass jar, go to several different lakes/ponds/streams and get some dirt and water from each one. Get it all mixed together in the jar, then close it up and put it on a sunny windowsill. Eventually there will be plants and maybe some animals in there.

observation park is past the terminals. you drive through terminal A, and after you make the 90 degree left turn, you will see signs pointing you to turn right to go to General Aviation/Observation Deck. this guy's blog describes it well (unlike the RDU website)

their big annual NC convention is this saturday in cary... I'm gonna go.

magazines/books & coffee at barnes & noble or borders. Cheap, and there is tons to read - from the simple to the intense. We do it at least once a month. And B&N in Cary is open until 11pm every night of the week.

you could check out the local astronomy club if she is into looking at the stars. Most have public viewing sessions on a regular basis.
