that one scene at the end where he stabbed the security guy and then shot the other 2, although the details were different, the overall idea made me think of the scene from Boondock Saints where he killed the 2 bodyguards and hit the guy in the head with a baseball
3/1/2007 2:24:33 PM
Simpsons did it
3/1/2007 10:26:52 PM
saw the replay last night and think i am going to be catching it on mondays now. thought it was good and its always nice to have a new show on tv when you only get 5 channels
3/2/2007 8:25:06 AM
haha captain janeway got fat.
3/6/2007 12:45:58 AM
still lovin' this show
3/6/2007 1:33:45 AM
I like it. Will keep watching...
3/6/2007 3:58:06 AM
I fell asleep last night so I guess I'll watch it on the internets. My dad said the characters are too stereotypical and stupid for him to enjoy it.I'ma still watch.I like the idea of having a show devoted to criminals on television acting a fool that aren't Italian or black.
3/6/2007 8:39:55 AM
Sure, the show borrows/steals familiar themes, situations, etc. from other sources, but it's delightfully violent and beats the shit out of most of network TV, so I'm on board.I definitely see a strong parallel between Tommy Donnely, the "good kid" who is forced into a crime family leader a la Michael Corleone in The Godfather part 1. While I don't see much in the way of plot similarities with boondock saints, a lot of the cinematography is very similar which may be why some folks were reminded of that movie (aside from the whole black irish thing). Maybe I have an unhealthy obsession with all things organized crime, but I dig this show.
3/6/2007 8:57:38 AM
i cant believe it hasnt been said yet that smalls from the sandlot is on this show[Edited on March 6, 2007 at 9:22 AM. Reason : o]
3/6/2007 9:19:45 AM
so the narrator of the show, is he really in on all these things like he says he is? he just kind of appears in scenes at the end of them and it makes me wonder.
3/6/2007 9:37:31 AM
he's keyser soze.so basically he's making it all up as he goes along.
3/6/2007 10:04:06 AM
3/6/2007 11:52:38 AM
i like this show....atleast it will give me something to watch on mondays until Heros starts back on April 23rd.....
3/6/2007 1:57:20 PM
i still think its a good showi wonder how far they are gonna go with this thing
3/6/2007 2:11:06 PM
Just can't get into this. And I just dont see it lasting.Anyone wanna guess how long its gonna last? I say it gets canned after a season.
3/6/2007 2:45:09 PM
if not after 1 season, then i say they pullit halfway through the 2nd, and not even finish it, just pull it all together.......but i can see them pushing it as far as they can
3/6/2007 2:50:39 PM
it will last. it's cheaper for them to make than studio 60 is, so if it just does as well as studio 60 did (or close to it) they'd keep this one.
3/6/2007 2:51:12 PM
It shouldn't be hard to do as well as S60 considering their ratings are almost not existant.
3/6/2007 2:54:12 PM
second ep was good it took me a second to realize I liked it, but I did. this is officially one of "my shows" now
3/7/2007 2:22:27 AM
first show was better, but i'll watch again. That ice cream dude doesn't exactly make any sense right now...well a little, but what is up with him?
3/7/2007 4:23:02 AM
Just watched the first two episodes. I like Studio 60 a lot more, but this certainly wasn't bad. I'll keep watching.
3/7/2007 9:32:54 PM
This show is so bad
3/7/2007 9:37:06 PM
^^^he's the tag-along of all the brothers and is also trying to keep them out of trouble...so some of the things he inserts himself to look like he's "in" with them (scenes where he appears right at the end) and others he has a disclaimer like "i heard from somebody" which is just to keep his brothers out of trouble.that's how i see it at least...
3/7/2007 11:29:12 PM
Wow, I'm glad that's over.
3/8/2007 12:19:06 AM
Gave it one more shot. This show is just baaaad. Looks like another one is gonna bite the dust.
3/8/2007 12:47:23 AM
The characters in mob movies/television lately are getting pretty stale. Most of them are a bunch of recycled over-the-top mooks.
3/8/2007 12:09:54 PM
the whole joey ice cream thing is really dumb, and the show would be better if it were just the story of the brothers.i mean, its going to tie in somehow in the end, like the brothers are all dead or something, and the police are trying to figure out why... hence why in the first ep they asked JIC where the bodies were.. but they werent talking about the bodies of the ones the brother shot in the basement of the resturaunt. and we havent seen any of the brothers in the timeframe that JIC is talking to his lawyer and police. The fact that the girl told him that she couldnt be with him after making moves on him was pretty silly.tons of holes with the crimes, specifically with trying to cover them upbut then again, it's entertaining.and jesus christ, when the brother was bashing the body with the sledge hammer, that dude is fucking ripped.obviously i cant remember the names of who each one is
3/9/2007 9:16:14 AM
^ yeah, i think they did that scene that way just to appeal to the women. My wife certainly enjoyed it.
3/9/2007 9:37:38 AM
^Yeah.I thought it was really silly for them to take their clothes off for that. If I'm at risk of getting blood splattered all of me, I'd rather have my clothes on to protect myself.
3/9/2007 7:48:09 PM
you got to remember they had just stolen those clothes because they had blood all over the other ones from murdering the mob...they are trying to think ahead if anyone ask for their clothing they were wearing that night
3/9/2007 8:07:21 PM
bttt. tonight's episode was good.apparantly there is an episode online that fits in between tonight's and last week. I didn't find out till afterwards so i didn't watch it.
3/12/2007 10:14:44 PM
I've been reading a lot about how this and Studio 60 won't be getting picked up at all for next fall so enjoy it while you can.
3/12/2007 10:26:51 PM
yeah me too. I didn't like S60, but the Donnelly's rocks. Probably too deep for some audiences though.
3/12/2007 10:31:48 PM
the web only episode was pretty damn amazing, I'm surprised they aren't broadcasting it it's a full length episode that takes place in between last weeks and this weeks, a it's definitely worth checking out
3/12/2007 11:03:09 PM
Haha, 3 episodes and they are already gonna can it. I knew this thing was garbage, glad I am not the only one.
3/12/2007 11:17:07 PM
link?
3/13/2007 12:17:07 AM
damn i have the 3rd ep recordedshould i even bother watching?
3/13/2007 5:32:41 AM
yeah
3/13/2007 6:28:00 AM
dern i knew i forgot to watch smthg last night
3/13/2007 9:57:29 AM
i really like this show even though tommy's accent seems too fake at times...it's better than most tv imo, but i've been watching more history channel than anything lately...
3/13/2007 6:05:31 PM
so theres 4 episodes?
3/13/2007 6:30:33 PM
no there are only 3 i just finished the last one and it wasn't too bad. i didn't think he'd get off the hook. i dunno though, if it's being dropped after this season, i might drop it too from now
3/13/2007 7:49:22 PM
would probably make a good miniseries but im gonna keep watching
3/13/2007 9:47:03 PM
there are indeed 4 episodes one of then is a "web only" episode at nbc.com, which takes place between the 2nd and 3rd broadcast episode
3/13/2007 10:08:09 PM
the part in ep 3 where it quickly shows kevin going after that witness and dude gets hit by a bus. was that in ep 2? or the web episode? i thought i had missed something.
3/13/2007 10:08:30 PM
The narrator is growing on me.
3/14/2007 1:09:22 AM
ok i admit it, i am starting to get into this show.
