ratchet i got the other day you can twist the handle and it'll rotate the socket.. pretty cool. has def saved me some time when i was pulling the AC off the tahoe, could only move the ratchet one click at a time so just twisted the handle and shit was out in no time... and a lot quicker than getting out the air wrenches. maybe this is common to everybody else but i hadn't seen one before

powerbar hand impact wrench... great for balancer bolts... esp. on subies
6/11/2007 6:46:59 PM
but on them you just use a breaker bar against the frame and hit the starter
6/11/2007 10:39:33 PM
just used it last night on a turbo manifold stud
6/12/2007 10:41:56 AM
^^ true, and i've done it that way several times... powerbar is still a very handy toolanother handy tool: crowfoot wrenches

I initially thought I would never pay a hundred bucks for a flashlight, but this is one of the best tool investments I have made. Streamlight Stinger. Rechargeable, brighter than you think is possible, unbreakable and a lifetime warranty.

got a nice little magnetizer/demagnetizer today from the tool man, great when you dont want your screwdrivers to always remain magnetici love tools
7/16/2007 7:49:21 PM
I keep eying those things on the tool truck. Does it work pretty well?
7/17/2007 12:18:44 AM
its worth it if you ever have screws fall off the end of the screwdriver, i ended up needing it and using it about 10 minutes after buying it so the tool satisfaction level is high on that one.

2/14/2008 9:03:31 PM
hell no. i cant find reciepts for my tool boxes, new roll cart, all my ebay stuff, etc but what i do have reciepts on is about $3200. i estimate about 5k total in the past year, wish i had reciepts for it all though since its tax deductible.

^^ 4.6" is too wide. i need it for taking the tops off of front load washers. the screws are in the rear and they are usually really close to the wall. thanks though.

Probably the best investment I have made tool-wise in several years......http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=54457&group_ID=12959&store=snapon-store&dir=catalogHands down THE best frozen tie-rod tool on earth, next GM's rust inhibitor. PB Blaster is a joke compared to that stuff....

Williams Low Buck Tubing NotcherBought this to use on my back-half project - can shear 4 notches in about a minutes time. It also worked perfectly for the little stubby (1 3/4" long) gussets we put between my frame rails[Edited on July 18, 2008 at 10:40 AM. Reason : -]
7/18/2008 10:39:37 AM
That notcher is the single best time saving tool there is for tube work as far as im concerned, FUCK A HOLE SAW NOTCHER. (To add to what he said, i could notch both ends of a tube in less than 20 seconds with the thing if i tried to hurry and was sure not to drop the tube with each cut.) The one areas it doesnt shine though is on severely angled notches, a holesaw would be nice for those, but we are quick enough with a port-a-band. We are about to scrap a bunch of weight, and decided we should spend the proceeds on tools for the shared too collection. Any suggestions from yall as far as modestly priced metal working tools??I was thinking about a small horizontal metal cutting bandsaw.[Edited on July 18, 2008 at 10:56 AM. Reason : dsf]

got one of these lately for the d90 project and its AWESOME when you have hundreds of rivets to installhttp://www.amazon.com/Grizzly-H6136-Air-Riveter/dp/B0007D2CK6
9/26/2009 11:04:40 PM
yeah, a pneumatic riveter is a must for putting on race car and go-kart bodiesklecko fasteners are also pretty handy for that kind of work or any sheet metal work, really
9/27/2009 4:25:34 PM
if you didnt have pussy forearms, would could use a regular riveter

Awsome for Air fuel mixture screws on carbs $ 5 bucks at Advanced to boot.
10/20/2009 8:32:20 AM
I bought one of those back in 2002 to swap mains in my 400ex carb...but realized i couldnt get my fingers in there to grip it hahhahaa
10/20/2009 8:38:19 AM
I like them for 2 stroke carbs but on the 4 stroke ones. The huge flats from Harbor and a grinder FTW
10/20/2009 10:02:49 AM
they make specail screwdrivers for that, unless you are good at precision grinding, if its tight, then its damn near impossible to get out without a good one
