qualifications have already been offered and you said those weren't qualifications.

how is serving as both a state and federal congressman, sucessfully running a law firm and being a constitutional law professor not equate with qualification or experience? What qualified Ronald Reagan, or Bob dole, or any number of people you supported or like, or whatever?

so now, in order to be president you must have served as a governor? Better get that constitutional amendment passed then. Let's not play games here. If obama was a republican you'd be throwing your life at him. I like the man, I like what he stands for. In my mind, that makes him qualified to serve as president.

Perhaps you'd like to mention how Texas is a gubernatorially weak state so your boy had little power and little say as to how the state was run. And how many businesses did he tank before becoming prez? Yeah, talk about qualified...

But the fact that the son of a goat-herder graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law, taught Law at the U. of Chicago, and won state and national senate seats is not a legit qualification at all.

ok...so you are cool with just experience in other non-political things??not that he has ZERO...but clearly he doenst have as much as 80% (??) of people in the house and senate...but like i said...i can see how that could be a good thing...the ones who have been there so long (Lindsay Graham/Ted Kennedy) are pretty much worthless

ahah, so by "unqualified," you meant "black?"
2/1/2007 7:07:44 PM
ahah
2/1/2007 7:10:13 PM
Our country has pulled very few presidents out of the senate. Obama needs some experience as a governor first. Show us that he can be the executive of a smaller state before we hand him the entire country. Of course even with that, I'd never vote for someone with such a liberal voting record.
2/1/2007 7:47:15 PM
Obama is as white as he is black.

2/1/2007 8:19:51 PM
his wife is black. you said he was "as white as he is black" so...
2/1/2007 8:24:37 PM
Oh. That has no bearing on what he is though. If a white person marries a black person, that doesn't make the white person non white.Or maybe i'm still confused about what you're saying...If his wife is black, with black parents, then his kids would be approximately 3/4 black and 1/4 white.[Edited on February 1, 2007 at 8:27 PM. people have been jizzing over obama since the day he was elected. I remember that crap. The commentators were like "oh man, Obama could be a presidential candidate!!! Oh man!!!" And I was like "why?" They did the same thing with Edwards, too.I'm not saying that Obama is worthless, but I think he has just been hyped up by the media from day one.
2/1/2007 11:45:13 PM
Edwards doesn't really compare to Obama.Obama is hyped up, but if anyone deserves it, it's him. Initially at least, he was a fairly straight-shooter. He hasn't done anything too bold since that I can recall, but he's far better than Edwards.^^ Good article. I think this part is worth requoting here:

Here's a good question: can someone please explain to me this about Hillary...
2/2/2007 12:51:28 AM
i think it's because she's voted "liberal" votes on pretty much every single piece of legislation she has seen.
2/2/2007 12:54:44 AM
So how is she more of an extremist than Obama, according to the thread-maker?Was it "liberal" of her to push for legislation regarding violent video games? [Edited on February 2, 2007 at 1:04 AM. Reason : .]
2/2/2007 1:03:57 AM
hey, I'm not saying she is super extreme. but people point to her voting record as an example of her "extremism..."
2/2/2007 1:07:14 AM
Well then that's a pretty sad definition of extremism you have going there. I'd define it as trying to disrupt the poltical order of the nation entirely. Has she done that?[Edited on February 2, 2007 at 1:10 AM. Reason : .]
2/2/2007 1:09:09 AM
i think your definition is a piss-poor definition of extremism. you don't have to want to disrupt the entire nation's political order to be an extremist.
2/2/2007 1:21:19 AM
both of your definitions need work lolnot that i have a much better one to offer except"exhibits tendencies on far end of respective political spectrum" or something openended and generalized like that
2/2/2007 1:23:30 AM
^ hey, I didn't say mine was a good definition, either. I was just saying why some people say she is an extremist.
2/2/2007 1:25:11 AM
PinkAndBlack's definition of extremism is more extreme than your definition
2/2/2007 1:33:16 AM
hey, I never said his definition of extremism wasn't more extreme than mine...damn, I sound like a pussy democrat
2/2/2007 2:09:31 AM
I think Obama is more liberal than Hillary.
2/2/2007 2:28:03 PM
At least outwardly. Hillary's all about looking centrist nowadays.
2/2/2007 3:30:31 PM
Yeah, that's what I'm going by. She posturing herself closer to the center than Obama.
