i didnt read the thread, but ivy commons is nice. kinda on the small side, but they are cheap and decently nice, plus you get your own private balcony.

I currently live at KP...moving this summer...would not be upset if the place burned down
1/29/2007 3:51:20 PM
i like ivy chase, ivy commons and village green. so far those are where some friends of mine stay and i like them. otherwise ud have to go to cary and find some apartment places in there.cause there are nice ones around there. one of the newest places ive seen going up, thats not ready for people to live in them yet, is right off walnut street by tryon road. its at that corner and is still under construction but ive been in them and they are fucking nice so far
1/29/2007 4:17:34 PM
the stratford off cary parkway was very nice[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 7:19 PM. Reason : oops mcPpnts not bous]
1/29/2007 7:18:21 PM
haha, my buddy lives on lady slipper court. The super crazy kid in the white chevy pickup truck. The pool there is awesome. I practically lived there last summer
1/29/2007 10:32:02 PM
How well built is Village Green? Is it noisy from room to room or apartment to apartment? What I'm worried about mostly is getting away from the noise whenever I want.
1/30/2007 11:24:03 AM
Anyone know anything about Oberlin Court?
1/30/2007 11:26:55 AM
^they have a websiteIf I remember correctly, the smallest 1BR there is about $850, but most of the 1BR's are around $1k. I'd hate to know how much a 2 or 3 BR there rents for.
1/30/2007 12:15:38 PM
^I know they have a website. I read online that management is unresponsive and the walls are paperthin. I want to know whether people on tww live there and if so, whether they like the place.
1/30/2007 1:34:40 PM
I like Ivy Chase. I've been there going on 3 years. I really like it. I'm paying $403/month and everything is included there (cable/electricity/water). You get a car wash, garages (if you want), 24-hr. computer lab with free copier and printer, 24-hr. gym and game room, sand volleyball court, tennis court, and full b-ball court. You can't beat that. Every room *(THE ROOMS ARE BIGGER THAN VILLAGE GREEN x10)* has a full walk-in closet and bathroom (mine are BOTH HUGE), individual leases, nice sized washer/dryer laundry room. Most have new carpet and have freshly painted walls. Not too noisey, convenient location--right off 40 (which I love since I work in RTP).Maintenance: IS WONDERFUL. They stay on top of everything. Misty, Angie and Brandon are wonderful and Dexter looks out for me always. If you put in a request for a work order, it's DONE that day, no questions asked. They powerwash/shampoo carpets on request as well.I LOVE IT!
1/30/2007 1:50:49 PM
^good luck having any friends come over though. i would not move to ivy chase simply because they have like 25 visitor's spots AND they tow all the time
1/30/2007 2:20:19 PM
^ True. You're right. I used to know the tow truck guy out there so , but now I don't. And the guy we have now is sneaky. He'll wait several months and not tow, then come out one random night at like 4 A.M. and be towing. Sucks. And yes, since everyone wanted to jump on the IVY CHASE TRAIN and sign a lease out there, they had to get rid of the visitor spots to accomodate the residents (since we do have 1st priority), but yeah it sucks. I'm always having my friends to park outside my window JUST SO we can keep a watch. *sigh*
1/30/2007 2:48:18 PM
yeah, i have a "secret spot" there is that failproof.
1/31/2007 1:04:32 PM
why do you need a balcony so badly? huh? huh? what r u doin out there? huh?
1/31/2007 3:30:15 PM
its like how some people like porches, I want an outdoor seating area where I can pass the time away with some rum in hand. plus throwing stuff off of the balcony is fun
1/31/2007 5:04:40 PM
Thoughts on oberlin court or the ashborough from anyone who lives at either?
2/2/2007 2:15:53 PM
oberlin court is fucking expensive
2/2/2007 2:20:24 PM
Ivy Commons[/thread]
2/2/2007 2:33:55 PM
^yea i heard it was a bit overpriced. I'm less concerned about price and more concerned about things like paperthin walls and difficult management.
2/2/2007 2:34:36 PM
village green is 515 for a 3 bedroom next year . ridiculous, and i though u house was expensive. also, i have stayed at ivy chase and never had my car towed, but after reading that i probably won't anymore
2/2/2007 2:36:37 PM
ivy commons and kensington park are the best deals in the ncsu area as far as apartments go, in my opinion
2/2/2007 2:39:47 PM
didnt read the whole thread....but NO College Inn.........no.....just.....stay. away.

the Summit at Avent Ferry was a nice quiet 1-bedroom apartment for me, and the management was very friendly. I ended up moving out and turning in my keys a month earlier than planned due to closing early on a house, and they found someone to move into the room and sent me a check for all of the rent money that I had paid up a couple weeks later.
2/2/2007 7:58:39 PM
I enjoyed my experience there, its about half way between western blvd which has plaza west shopping center & a grocery store, & crossroads shopping center with has alot of places to eat, shop, and a movie theater.http://www.sumtersquareapartments.com/"Im still in the market for one with a balcony"All 3 of those options have balconies, and then there are 2 townhouse apartment options that I didn't show that don't include balconies. And the apartment complex, being on the cary edge of raleigh, was always out of the police looking to harass students range as best as I could tell, and still not a huge drive to school since it was near western blvd.[Edited on February 2, 2007 at 8:21 PM. 2/3/2007 7:46:22 PM
i live in lake park and like it. cheap rent and depending on neighbors is relatively quiet these days
2/3/2007 8:18:32 PM
I've lived at the ashborough for one year and we are going to transfer to a bigger place in two weeks. we had actually planned to move out, but when we went to give them our sixty days notice they asked why we were leaving and basically fixed every problem for us, except the berber carpet ( ) We are going to buy rugs to cover that. We never really had any big problems, there were just small differences that we liked in other apartment communities. The staff here is wonderful, and maintenance is fast. The hot tub is open year round. They have community wide parties and yard sales a lot, and every few months they set up tables at the entrances and hand out breakfast while you are driving to work. They are very pet-friendly but the pet deposit is pretty hefty, and non-refundable. They only have one dumpster and recycling center. You can walk to Dillard Drive School's football field, which people use as a dog park on the weekends. They have one of the nicest clubhouses I've seen and you can rent it out for parties. My company used it for our Christmas party this past year and everyone loved it. Some of the apartments have awesomely enormous balconies, while others have smal, yet adequate ones.

"Nice" and "tolerant of student behavior/parties" are, generally speaking, mutually exclusive.

btttanyone live/lived in lexington farms apts off of edwards mill rd.? seems like a decent place, but i don't know anyone who has ever lived there
4/7/2007 2:02:03 PM
i just don't understand the big deal about Wildwoods....the place looks like shit from the outside and not much better from the inside. It looks old, run down and falling apart. What am I missing???
4/7/2007 2:35:19 PM
^it definitely looks old... i went over there yesterday to check it out. my brother used to live there and he loved the location (the trails) and the management. the apartments are pretty decent. it's one of the more affordable places around here so that might have something to do with it. i would have lived there, but the next place available was in june...
4/7/2007 2:52:23 PM
^^ when i lived there the 12x13 screened in porch facing the lake was a big plus, and it was quiet and nicely landscaped. other than that it is like any other place.
4/7/2007 7:08:22 PM
the biggest drawback i have for wildwoods is how far it is from campus...i'd rather be located like 3 minutes from campus, rather than like 8 minutes from campus

Camdens.....however, the ones in Raleigh are expensive as shit and none of you fucks could afford it.
4/7/2007 8:06:26 PM
anybody know anything about apartments in apex? probably gonna be moving around july or so...we need one with 2 large bedrooms or 3 smaller bedrooms...budget is $900 or less...any suggestions?
4/7/2007 8:30:28 PM
Its not the closest to campus but Cary Town Apartments is the best place I've ever stayed at. Our rent is $1080 for a three bedroom and is pretty massive and really nice. 10 foot ceilings with crown molding, a balcony, huge kitchen, and really good community. It's about a 15 minute drive from the complex to the coliseum parking deck going down Western, but its also directly off of I-40 so its pretty easy to get all over the place.
4/7/2007 9:20:02 PM
what are some good 1 bedrooms. I still think that Wildwoods is a shit hole!
4/7/2007 10:41:44 PM
Lake Johnson Mews
4/7/2007 11:03:26 PM
how do you get a lease at ivy commons that doesnt start for a few months?i called and they were only letting people sign starting immediately. do they not cater to college students in accordace with the school year?
4/7/2007 11:38:44 PM
I lived in Dom. Walnut Creek1 bedroom for about 450/moit was the cheapest 1 bedroom i could find that wasn't a shithole and I actually enjoyed living there! Everything worked while i was there - the faucet broke and they came and fixed it the same day.I think it's luck of the draw whether you get a good one or not though.
4/7/2007 11:50:19 PM
Wolf Creek is shit.

what do you guys think about university village? other good 2 bedroom places with individual bedrooms somewhat near campus?
4/8/2007 1:03:01 PM
Anyone know anything about The Summit apartments? I'm thinking of moving there in August.
4/12/2007 8:30:51 PM
