coach is nastybut dont forget Odom has missed like half the season whereas (to my knowledge) Jamison and Butler have played all yearalso, for what its worth, Arenas, Jamison and Butler are all top 15 fantasy players...doesnt necessarily mean anything, except all of them put up good numbersfucking Caron Butler...I hated his guts when he hit those 3 FTs to beat Jules and fam back in 01?02? but he's on my fantasy team shooting like 88% from the line

Kobe has been the best player for a long time, too much haters out there.
1/26/2007 8:25:48 PM
maybe...but he needs to get a title without shaq to prove himself

1/27/2007 4:05:10 PM
i hope the appeal goes through before this game, even though i think it is unlikely, that is bullshit. i have some money down on this game before he was suspended
1/30/2007 4:25:22 PM
what did he get suspended for? bashing the fuck out of ginobli's face when he shot that jumper vs SAS the other day? i dont know why he would get suspended for an obviously blatant flagrant foul that was merely glanced over during the game
1/30/2007 4:33:39 PM
yeah, the elbow is the reason for suspension. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2748084
1/30/2007 4:40:42 PM
We were watching the game when it happened...in live action you couldn't really notice it (nor did the refs) because everybody was watching the ball to see if it went in since it was late in the 4th quarter...but right after Kobe shot it, he backhanded/elbowed/backpunched the shit out of Ginobli's face...and Ginobli is a dirty player but you could tell Kobe clearly did it on purpose...he is the big bad Kobe Bryant, and he was taking the final shot for his team, and Manu blocked him...so he was pissed and backlashed at him...its obvious in the replay...I guess the league is just acknowledging that the refs dropped the ball by not seeing it...I could care less but I guess I would if I had money on the game
1/30/2007 4:52:09 PM
Big Bad Kobe Bryant was just trying to get a foul called on Big Bad Flop-artist Ginobilibullshit suspension, someone should really reprimand Ginobili for flopping every fucking game
1/30/2007 5:25:48 PM
manu is so ugly he looks like a wicked witch[Edited on January 30, 2007 at 5:37 PM. Reason : c]
1/30/2007 5:36:47 PM
i dont really like ginoblihe is dirty as shitbut the move kobe put on him was pretty dirty...and it wasnt just a flop...it was like a massive pimppunch to his face
1/30/2007 5:50:57 PM
He flopped his arms out, most likely trying to draw a foul. He wouldn't have checked on Manu to make sure he was alright if it was done on purpose. Even the Spurs didn't make a deal of it, and they're not exactly the biggest Laker fans.He deserved a fine, but not a suspension. And now they're losing to the Knicks in the 4th. I'm sure the Knick fans are pissed.
1/30/2007 9:33:20 PM
that was an karate elbow, i cant believe you guys even think its not.i wouldnt wanna be playing with someone who tries to draw fouls byusing mr. miagi's wax off punch. suspend, fine.
1/30/2007 9:43:46 PM
"most likely trying to draw a foul"watch the clip and then see if you still think it was as innocent as you claimhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=-a7TGrVIu3o]

did somebody just pull an iframe or somethin?
1/30/2007 10:16:18 PM
At best, it was a reckless, dangerous play by Kobe.At worst, it was a dirty blatant swing.Either way, the one game suspension was warranted.
1/31/2007 9:39:24 AM
^especially in the Post 9/11 World Detroit/Indiana brawl league
1/31/2007 10:52:42 AM
he had a damn good game tonight

it looked the exact same as the ginobli thinghe caught him with his right hand in the facei was willing to believe the ginobli thing was incidental, but twice in 1 year makes me think otherwisethough maybe jaric thought the same thing and flopped knowing no one would believe kobe did this 'accidentily' twice[Edited on March 7, 2007 at 4:36 PM. Well, Kobe did say if he had gone to college, it would've been to Duke! (henderson)hmm...I wonder if he had actually gone to Duke and the Hornets had drafted him if he still would have refused to sign[Edited on March 7, 2007 at 4:35 PM. Reason : .]
3/7/2007 4:35:27 PM
nba mvp, that wont make the playoffs
3/7/2007 5:47:59 PM
Kobe lost that game against the Timberwolves with his piss-poor defense against Ricky Davis at the end of the game.
3/7/2007 6:42:37 PM
and now he suspended, told ya
3/8/2007 10:52:14 AM
The MVP will be one of these 2 guys:
3/15/2007 1:48:16 PM
hell they may even get co-MVP
3/15/2007 1:52:15 PM
Let's face it: Kobe will never be as good as Michael Jordan was, and he'll have to live with that forever.
3/15/2007 3:23:07 PM
^
3/15/2007 3:35:24 PM
^^while i COMPLETELY agree...he might be better than Jordan already...course theres no way to prove that since you cant really compare eras
3/15/2007 3:41:24 PM
cept there were better players back then, and they I don't know played like a team more often?
3/15/2007 3:44:57 PM
better players back then?i'm not saying people like Bird and Magic (though they were at the ends of their careers when Jordan hit his prime) arent better than players nowadays...but I think the overall talent level of the 15th man on the bench is definitely better nowdaysCourse I'll never get tired of this:btw its funny that when making your argument that team basketball was more prevalent back in the day, you happen to use Jordan as an example...Jordan, a player who regularly broke players down 1-on-1 by playing as an individual[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 3:50 PM. Reason : .]
3/15/2007 3:49:22 PM
they have zone defense now, that’s a pussy defense for the nba. Sorry, I have had this argument like a year ago and I restate what I said then, I'd put the players of the 90s against the guys now. You know the 90's would win.I'm glad AI will be remembered for that one momentI never said jordan, that is just my screename [Edited on March 15, 2007 at 4:28 PM. Reason : .]

Kobe scored 65 tonight.
3/17/2007 12:21:23 AM
^seriously i was looking at some stats and saw that and my mental expression was like
3/17/2007 1:01:58 AM
if t-mac could stay healthy and get a ring he would be right there with kobe..."if god designed the prototypical basketball player it would be tmac"...the man has no weakness
3/17/2007 1:05:41 AM
3/17/2007 1:09:16 AM
it is common knowledge that the players of today are larger, faster, stronger and better coached than the players of yesterday.
3/17/2007 1:19:30 AM
i dont necesarily agree about better coached, but i'll give you all the other onesbut i'm not comparing t-mac to players of the past...im comparing him to the kobes, wades, jkidds...even the billups, etc....to me mcgrady seems like one of the few players who actually fits the "lazy and just playing for the money" stereotypes of nba players that i'm usually quick to defend
3/17/2007 1:23:20 AM
i see where you are coming from but i wouldnt mistake not having that peak mental drive for being lazy and just playing for the money...he possesses every tool you could ever want in a player (maybe he could make a few more free throws ahaha) but he desperately wants to be on a team that is a player, he just needs to realize that he is the guy that needs to make the rockets that player...his offense leaves nothing to be questioned and i don't think his D does either, as he was the lock down defender in toronto...i really think they can do some damage this year especially if they can get utah in the first/late night rant
3/17/2007 1:57:01 AM
thats bullshit, they can't even come together to win in the Olympics anymore, Who is going to beat the dream team, go on who?
3/17/2007 8:40:55 AM
That's because the rest of the world sucked balls back then, and they don't anymore.
3/17/2007 9:21:57 AM
name a team that could beat them....you can't
3/17/2007 9:53:14 AM
The DREAM TEAM is a name that should be fucking RESERVED for that 1992 lineup and never used again (though I don't mind the '96 team being called Dream Team II, but it should absolutely stop there). Every Team USA Basketball squad is NOT the Dream Team. 2000 wasn't a dream team, 2004 sure as shit wasn't a dream team, and 2008 won't be a dream team no matter how seriously Colangelo & the crew take it.
3/17/2007 1:47:24 PM
back in 92 we werent competing against Dirk Nowitski, Steve Nash, Manu Ginobli, Pao Gasol, Yao Ming, Carlos Arroyo, Peja Stojacovic, etcinternational talent has grown substantially over the last 15 years...no way in hell Dream Team 1 goes on their run like they did where their smallest margin of victory was 37 points...they would get tested a lot more
3/17/2007 5:40:47 PM
I assume better coaching because of the small advances in technology, larger budgets, staffs and the growth of the "skills coach"
