i used to loop the strap around the part of the hitch perpendicular to the frame rails and back through the clevis then to another truck in the same manner. pulled my old dakota out more than once, even with the skids acting like big shovels when coming out backwards

I didnt have a recieved shackle with me and as a matter of fact now that I think about it i dont think i had it hooked like that when we made the pull with it. honestly i cant remember. lol. i think the end that was on my truck is actually inside the truck at the time of that picture, the end you see there was hooked to my brothers old toyota in some fashion.
