I get approximately 8-12% of my annual salary as a bonus every quarter depending on my workload.

I got my third quarter bonus and my Xmas bonus right around the same time, , roughly 2 extra paychecks. Taxes absolutely eat that shit up. I get about 2% Xmas bonus, and a quarterly bonus of around 5% if things go well. The only thing that I don't like is that I don't get my quarterly bonuses until almost the end of the current quarter (I'll get my 4th quarter bonus in like, March).

^^ I started out with a guaranteed bonus amount for the quarterly bonuses so I expected one. However, when they exceeded that amount, that's what I didn't expect.

Looking forward to this week. Tuesday is my 1 year anniversary. Should be raise time.

If it is guaranteed, it should not be called as bonus....

my first job I was a temp... I was at least hoping to get a gift cert. for a ham like the regular employees and some of the other temps, but no dice.

2nd job was labcorp = cheap ass mf's. Last Xmas dinner was a choice between chicken, hamburger or a salad from Red Robin's or something... and they brought it in to work. They gave out a bonus this xmas, but only if you worked so many extra hours of overtime because they were short of employees since people like me had quit.

Now: working for UNC since june, didn't see anything extra, so I'm guessing they don't have bonuses. We did have a tasty xmas dinner thing tho.

sadly true.... don't companies get to push more of the tax burden on employees by making the pay a bonus? Meaning if you have 100k salary and 10k bonus the company would pay more and you would in the end get more than if you had a 10k salary and a 100k bonus?
