w00t, bama should be back on top soon
1/3/2007 11:15:35 AM
Or Saban should be out of a job in no time.[Edited on January 3, 2007 at 11:19 AM. Reason : .]
1/3/2007 11:19:20 AM
why the hell wouldnt you get up and run from that situation in Miami?
1/3/2007 11:20:44 AM
with the texa$ they're paying him, he's pretty much locked in unless he quits.^because it's a bitch move, and the situation isn't THAT bad.[Edited on January 3, 2007 at 11:21 AM. Reason : .]
1/3/2007 11:20:58 AM
What pisses me off the most is how UAB got screwed over.
1/3/2007 11:22:22 AM
great, we will hear about this on ESPN allllll damnnnnnnnn dayyyyy
1/3/2007 12:11:31 PM
yeah, I'm not even turning ESPN on todaysome ep. 2 of Entourage & the Sugar Bowl
1/3/2007 12:30:37 PM
Saban didnt do terribly last year...9-7 with no quarterback and a rookie HB was impressive. This year was terrible, but hopefully we can pick up Cowher.

1/3/2007 1:07:58 PM
i wouldnt call dec. 21st the middle of the season for the miami dolphins, but i somewhat agree with you. coaches have to say that kind of stuff.
1/3/2007 1:18:05 PM
1/3/2007 1:24:54 PM
I don't understand it. It's not like he was making a shit salary in Miami, it's pretty much the same exact deal money-wise. He's already been successful in college and he's done a decent job at Miami. If he had a decent quarterback, they'd probably be in the playoffs.
1/3/2007 1:24:58 PM
^all of heard so far today has been saban playing the wife card....complaining about how his wife cant stand living in south florida, and that the extra hours of the nfl season are affecting his life....
1/3/2007 3:27:33 PM
1/3/2007 3:43:58 PM
Fuck Nick Saban. That's all I have to say on this topic.
1/3/2007 5:47:37 PM
It was a pay cut. He'll make $4 mil a year at Alabama, and was due to make $4.5 mil/year with the Dolphins.
1/3/2007 5:54:08 PM
1/3/2007 5:58:50 PM
I would pick being a top college coach over a being an NFL coach any day... my dream job is actually to be a college football coach
1/3/2007 5:58:56 PM
^ well, he had that job 3 years ago though
1/3/2007 6:10:21 PM
well, HE might have needed the pro experience to realize he preferred college... and I would have Bama slightly above LSU in terms of prestige, not saying LSU isnt really really high, but Bama is at the very top level
1/3/2007 6:16:58 PM
1/3/2007 6:27:09 PM
^^ so if Shula DOESN'T get fired...
1/3/2007 6:44:54 PM
is it really "bald-faced liar?" i always thought it was "bold-faced"
1/3/2007 7:13:14 PM
it's bald or bare
1/3/2007 7:20:54 PM
I think bare is technically the right one, but the other two are used too, bold is older I think, remember it being in some "classics" I have read
1/3/2007 7:26:16 PM
1/3/2007 7:49:21 PM
^*10there really is no offseason for an nfl coach, if no playoffs, then draft evaluations, mini camps, otas, training campi know college coaches work alot of hours, but saban was head coach, and had all gm duties, so he had to work even more hours.....
1/3/2007 8:59:11 PM
lb coach kevin steele from fsu is bama's new dc. he was named the 2005 recruiter of the year.
1/4/2007 1:45:55 PM
1/4/2007 4:25:58 PM
saban is a slut apparently
1/4/2007 9:53:36 PM
Look at this shithttp://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/04/alabama.salary.ap/index.html?eref=rss_usSeems like a case of "ours schools suck, so we'll blame AU for it"
1/5/2007 9:07:41 AM
^ They have a point but it's not really new. Tide fans in general value a winning football team over a decent education. They're no different than the UNC fans that never went to college in this state that think the only reason the Chapel Hill campus exists is to put out a winning basketball team they can cheer for every year. It's nothing new. This guy thinks the same way and puts it better than I can:http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=granderson/061228[Edited on January 5, 2007 at 10:05 AM. Reason : /]
1/5/2007 10:04:41 AM
meh, i went to school in alabama, i didnt have a problem making it to college
1/5/2007 12:14:14 PM
^ That wasn't what I was saying. I was saying that if you took a cross-section of Alabama alums and Alabama residents on what to spend a set amount of money on, football would rank above the academic part of the university as far as priority.[Edited on January 5, 2007 at 1:04 PM. Reason : /]
