Didn't Castro send a bunch of militants to Chile to help out Allende? Who were these 3000 people that Pinochet killed?

He killed some leftists, that has to count for something.j/k don't really care either way.

You aren't outraged that he tortured children?
12/22/2006 1:04:04 PM
Were they leftist children?I'm thinking they were.
12/22/2006 1:52:52 PM
Yes I love the thought of tortured dead children. You got me.
12/22/2006 2:22:03 PM
so....why are we having an arguement over which murderer is a bigger douche bag?
12/22/2006 2:29:35 PM
Dead is the ONLY state dictators should be in. Sic semper tyrannis.

^ Not at all. It is not impossible for a dictator to be a good ruler that did not murder/torture/imprison/invade anyone. In fact, I'm sure if you go back through history you could find quite a few military rulers that firmly enforced law, liberty, civil rights, and freedom. I think the Governor of Hong Kong could best be described as a dictator (although he was answerable to Parliament) yet he built a haven of freedom and liberty in Asia. So, not all dictators needed killing, that's all I'm saying.

^ Jesus. Support fascism much? "None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free" (Goethe)."Few men desire liberty; most men wish only for a just master" (Sallust).
12/22/2006 11:52:40 PM
I've never heard of a fascist that could stomach "firmly enforced law, liberty, civil rights, and freedom"

did you read his post? Dictatorship does not equal fascism, he gave Hong Kong as an example, a place where people enjoy a great deal of freedom, despite the fact that they aren't granted the benefit of democracy.and you wonder why people dont treat you with any respect...[Edited on December 23, 2006 at 2:40 PM. Gotta give the french credit there. They built a pretty good gigantic robot to tear down old stalin statues. So really, I'm wondering, why is this thread still going? Just bickering over the moral relativism of benevolent dictatorships versus free societies or what? (Sorry, page two threw me off.)

^ Actually, I think that's Hussein. But, yes, Lady Liberty can be activated when needed. As to your second paragraph, yes, that about sums it up. Commies/fascists vs. freedom lovers--you know, the same old shit.

Hmm, Kris has not posted for over a page, so there are no "Commies/fascists" here.
