the entire site i linked shows where he stands on "serious issues." you haven't bothered to even look at it yet. you just want to blindly discredit everyone who doesn't have an "R" next to their name.
12/11/2006 9:36:04 PM
I have read it. It means nothing. Let's see what he ACTUALLY DOES 1st.It's a shame that you are pumping up this guy because he has a D beside his name. And Hillary will eat his lunch. Seriously.
12/11/2006 9:37:48 PM
so we should let him be president for a while and then see how he is as president? seriously what the fuck are you suggesting?first you say he doesn't stand for anything. and i show you his stance on issues.then you say he hasn't done anything. do you want me to put up some bills that he's sponsored and whatnot and then you can tell me that he hasn't done anything that you deem important.see, the difference between you and me is that i care to look at what he stands for. you aren't gonig vote for him regardless. i don't like hillary's stance on censorship (among other things). plus i don't think she has a snowball's chance of winning the presidency.[Edited on December 11, 2006 at 9:41 PM. Chances are I wouldn't vote for him, I take issues like foreign policy and social issues very seriously and he doesn't agree with what I believe, so why should I vote for the guy? Lots of people do not seem to know what he thinks other than the fact that he seems electable. Fodder on campaign web pages is generally fluff that is written in a way to appeal to the most people because of the vagueness of the response. I mean really, who doesn't want clean water, safer streets, a stronger economy? The real crux is how do we accomplish those things. My guess is that he'll remain under the radar for the next 2 years in order to try to remain as vague and politically anonymous as possible.
12/11/2006 9:48:14 PM
maybe your lapdog pals liddy dole or richard burr will run. THEY certainly stand for a lot.
12/11/2006 9:57:33 PM
Certainly no less than Obama.
12/11/2006 10:00:55 PM
do you think it will be Clinton/Obama?
12/11/2006 10:05:04 PM
^NO! I PRAY THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!To the original question: YES![Edited on December 11, 2006 at 10:39 PM. Reason : ]

[No]
12/11/2006 11:20:20 PM
To answer the actual question:No in the primaries, unless it comes down to a choice of Obama or some other "safe" democrat.Yes in a national election, unless there is a majorly great 3rd party candidate or a Republican that isn't deeply entrenched in his party's inherent evility.

nominating hillary would be the worst idea ever.a good half of the country still actively dislikes her from the clinton days.
12/12/2006 11:38:37 AM
And another portion of the country seriously believes she has a marxist agenda.
12/12/2006 12:01:04 PM
i loved the MNF obama intro....great attempt at courting white democrats who love football but dont necessarily like black people....as well as show that he's not just some uber-intellectual...i mean think about how you think of condi rice now that you know she loves bama football
12/12/2006 12:30:46 PM
i swear...if the democrats want to fuck up AGAIN...they will nominate obama or clintonsomething tells me they are gonna fuck up AGAIN

I just want Hillary to win for the shear political entertainment value. Nothing would beat having Bill as first spouse....
12/12/2006 12:44:31 PM
no, i wouldnt vote for him
12/12/2006 11:36:07 PM
no, he's not ready and i don't think he has the experience yet.let him spend some time doing his job first. we wouldn't even be mentioning this if he was white, and you know it. if he's not the best person for the job, and i don't think he is yet, then i don't think demographics can determine your vote.
12/13/2006 1:38:17 AM
In 2008, no. In 2012, strong possibility depending who the Republicans run
12/13/2006 1:56:44 AM
Another thing he has going for him: lack of a long list of senate dirty laundry for his opponents to use against him. He's not my #1 choice by any means, but he could be by 2012. Depends.

Him being half white will do him a lot of favors when it comes down to people deciding if they want to have the first 'black' president or not. Although some say 2012, 2008 is a year where a democrat is very likely to get placed back in office again. That being said, they some canadites that would be otherwise unlikely to get elected --i.e. a woman or a black man-- may not want to miss the boat on this one
12/13/2006 1:12:42 PM
I'm not so sure this is going to be an election where people want the democrat to win. I think people have had quite enough unchecked power in Washington. Do you think people will really turn over both chambers of Congress AND the presidency at the same time this soon after it was so unproductive?I should hope not, but you never really know with the American populace.
12/13/2006 3:36:29 PM
why 2012. you're either going to not have a chance cuz the president will re-run or you'll be facing a republican incumbant. i dont like them odds.
^exactly^^i think people would go for an unchecked system of power, because dems tend to beleive that it being unchecked wasn't the issue but instead that the issue was a republican regime. therefore they will do all they can not allow a republican to get in. That aside, I will also say they will still want a dem president because the house/senate could change again by 2k8, or 2010.
12/13/2006 3:41:34 PM
Only his policies will matter for me.Age shouldn't be a problem - He's going to be older than Clinton and JFK were when elected. I don't care if he hasn't spent all his life in Congress. In fact, I want someone who's had a life outside of politics. He has time to get ready - November 2008 is a long ways away.No major losing stains - That's one thing over Edwards and Gore.Charisma - Tired of fossils like Kerry, etc.?Earned his place - I also like that he wasn't born with political connections.Everyman appeal - Half black; half white; lived in Hawaii, Illinois, and abroad; divorced parents; volunteer; christian; teacher; sports fan. That covers a wide range of American demographics.[Edited on December 13, 2006 at 3:49 PM. Reason : boldness]

warner would be VP in that scenerio (sources near him said he could be open to vp even if he doesnt go for p)But anyone who makes the republicans have to spend alot of resources in the bible belt just to sure up votes can cost then alot.Kerry is the flip flopping target of the brunt of the negative ads from the last election. Edwards is still very viable in my opinion. And I'd really like to see my home state become more important in national politics & I think there are just enough of a coalition of NC brand democrats (which aren't as left as say CA type dem's), anti-corruption, anti-deficit, anti-iraq moderate republicans & undecideds, and pro-having someone from their own state become president... that edwards has a real shot. And being able to carry students from NCSU the largest school in the state & UNC the most liberal schools in the state can help too... if only that translate into sports fan votes too then he'd have a great shot.
12/17/2006 10:01:08 PM
NC can't become a swing state by moving right, only by moving left. If we can just once vote for the same kind of president as we vote for governor, then we might have a shot. But if this fails, it will be the last chance of we will have of seeing a North Carolinian running for pres & the last chance for seeing our state being a swing state with any real attention in national politics. Elevating the status of our state nationally & in the federal budget could be good for us. I only hope that after his first run in a national election that he has learned more about campaigning and about leading… maybe this time he’s grown up into what we want or atleast can accept as a representative for our nation.

^That's pretty much how things are supposed to work--a slight swing, sometimes larger than others, back and forth ultimately resting on what's absolutely acceptable.

12/18/2006 2:00:37 PM
It looks like Edwards thinks all he needs is Ohio....he is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind in all the other States.Obama doesnt have a chance and is peaking way too fast. He would be a good VP though. Plus, Americans will not vote for a black president.Clinton, she is the best shot, but just like the black thing, is America ready for a woman president...another Clinton? Cliton fatigue? We will elect a woman before a black for president.[Edited on December 18, 2006 at 2:09 PM. Reason : w]

Clinton's going to run for presidency or bust. I highly doubt she'd accept a VP nod.

Well hopefully it will be BUST, imagine the world of shit if you gave both chambers to democrats and then put Hitlery at the helm.

Obama better stop messing around with Hillary's candidacy, or he may end up suicided in the park, or crashing into a mountainside.
