yea personally i wish cops would sit outside alehouse and other sports bars and nightclubs more often and watch for possibly inebriated drivers

cops aren't allowed to sit outside of a bar to stake out drunk drivers. It hurts the buisness b.c it discourages patrons from attending

^^^^^^^it would be better if they were waiting outside to tell people to go right back inside and find a couch to crash on, to drive people home, or even not wait outside at all. but i guess they have a job to do. their job just got easier with the new legislation about underage drinking, too.bike/GoPed DUI is still a ridiculous concept.

When I was in Japan they had strict drinking laws for bikes too, though they rarely enforced them. It was illegal to ride a bike while holding an umbrella too. :'(

i remember my freshman or sophomore year, some asian homeboy from alexander got pulled over by a campus cop and received a 100 dollar fine for riding a bycicle with no headlight. holy fuck i was laughin my ass off

1. bicycles are vehicles and dui applies or 2. bicycles aren't vehicles and they shouldn't be allowed on the road pick one

I'd rather them proactively watch for crimes that actually matter, like drunk driving. But cops go for the low hanging fruit. But then again if they were the type to work harder than that, they probably wouldn't be cops.

You knowSome of you wouldn't get in so much Police trouble if you didn't cop (haha pun) an attitude with The Man.

well last time i checked you didn't need to register your bike, have insurance, and a drivers lis. to ride.they are two seperate mode of transportation and the punishment should be adjusted accordingly and not effect the other. b.c a drunky going 5mph on his bike is the same danger to society as someone driving their excursion 80 mph down the road . public intoxication- yesliable for a accident if they go into the road and cause a car to wreck- yesDUI- NO[Edited on December 15, 2006 at 2:50 PM. a drunk person on a bike could easily create a very real safety hazard on the road
